  1. Deweyville will take on Corrigan-Camden Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Shepherd High School
  2. WO-S ranking seems a tad bit high right now especially if it takes awhile for Earl, Andre and Ronnie to return from what looks to be a long run in the football playoffs.
  3. The new gym is nice but I'M still "old-school." Nothing is quite like the old Bobcat Gym. My Dad played in that gym in the late 50s and I played in it in the mid-80s. Will always remember Coach Bill Tennison roaming the court and working his girls hard to a lot of success. It has that "Hoosiers" feel to it but we all must move on even though it seems like all of the new gyms around the area all seem to look a lot alike.
  4. WO-S' Brittney Scott has to be the top college prospect around and she'll be a serious threat in the NCAA ranks running the point for some lucky team. Lumberton's Pickering is stout as well.
  5. Orangefield seems to be head and shoulders above everyone else with seven of their top eight players back. Coach Ancelot may be the best around and will likely land a college job in the near future but hopefully she'll stick around longer than folks think. Kristy, K-K and Riddick are stout. If the Lady Bobcats had a serious scoring threat in the low post, the sky really would be the limit.
  6. I think the third-place spot will likely come down between Nederland and LC-M this week. The Bears haven't been scored on at home this season and if they can contain Mosley, to say just 100 yards, they could take it.
  7. Cardiac Cards do it again in the fourth quarter. Six of the seven BC games have been decided in the fourth quarter with the Cards winning five of them. Dishon continues to amaze despite a bum ankle.
  8. Maybe it is time for the area to show Deweyville senior tailback Justin Williams some love. He motored for 215 yards and four TDs, including three in the second half to rally the Pirates past Warren in a crucial District 24-2A tilt Friday night, pushing the Pirates to 6-1 overall, but more importantly 2-1 in 24-2A play. Williams now has 1,599 yards and a whopping 25 TDs on just 168 carries for the season.
