You should have seen the practice yesterday in Huntsville.  It's been years since I have seen a Vidor team so focused and business like.  I'm not saying we will win or loose, I do not make predictions, but this will be a great game.  Another game like the Central game, could come down to a few OT's.
I really wish that we could've done that in 2007 when I was a senior on that team. We just didn't have the experience we have now.
2 straight region championships don't mean squat. Anything can happen on any given night. I am from Vidor and I hate to say it but Dayton might just have the better chance but Vidor is also improving and I know that coach Matthews is working them hard for this game and I hope that they bring it to dayton and knock them on their butts. I am not predicting anything but I just hope that Vidor comes on top.
Our playoff runs mean a heck of a lot to us. For one thing.... it means most of the seniors on this team have played in 11 playoff games. And the rest have played or been on the sidelines for at least 6. You can't convince me that all the experience doesn't help. It doesn't make us win the game before we step on the field, but mentally it's an edge.... like it or not.
I am not meaning anything bad by you having that. That is a great accomplishment and it is a confidence booster. All I am saying is that just because you have 3 district championships does not mean an automatic win for anybody. I'm not just talking about just Dayton. I am talking about all teams in general.

Friendswood was pretty large up front... I haven't seen vidor in person.
Thats really funny. I am not making any excuses for losing that game at all. Dayton was the way better team that year. I also felt that at the time that we had those first year guys, we had alot of issues and I felt that there were times that they didn't go to play. They just didn't care. That was just what I felt.

They've proved that they cannot pass the ball. Also, Vidor has a hard time defending the pass. Dayton wins BIG.
I dont know if you have seen any of our games or not, but Vidor can and does pass the ball.
I have seen Vidor play. All but 1 district game. The passing game isnt there. They try to pass and arent successful. The only pass that ever gets completed is a dump off pass to the halfback. And that doesnt always get completed. Besides that, the ball never gets completed or its a sack most of the time.
I haven't seen Vidor Play but I have seen highlights and yes Vidor does pas and passes pretty well. One one game, James Laramore caught a one handed pass in a games that was for alot of yards. We have some pretty good recievers. They may not be the best but they can catch the ball.
Where I come from a competitive sport is a competitve sport, so no we are talking sports! Bottom line ain't no body over here in Dayton saying go Crosby anytime soon!!!
The thing is that in the pros, you have only 2 divisions and its NFC against NFC in the playoffs and then they play someone in the AFC, but here its 20-4A against everybody else and we just want to see our district go as far as it can go, AND WE ARE CHEERING FOR EACH OTHER TO GO ALLL THE WAY!

I know because I was playing for Vidor at that time and we were a very new team at that time. We are a different team now and I hope that Vidor pulls it out. I know that they can.
 13.
Good luck to both teams.
I am going to say that PN-G has this one in the bags. Wether the score be close or a blow out, the ndns will win!! and rep 20-4A the way it is supposed to.
 14. Man, when I read this quote, I just about cried. I graduated from VHS in 08' and I played Varsity and we did not do good that year. We only won one district game that year and even though that was the only one that we won, we were still celebrating like we had the perfect season. I wish that I could be apart of that group of pirates. I only played with Pittman and peavey and Tate and all of those guys for one year and that was when we were a very new team. I am so happy for those guys that I played with and it is awesome to see how much more of a team that they developed into now. I wish hope that they have a great and deep drive into the playoffs and show everybody who the pirates are and that we are for real!! GO PIRATES!!!
 15.
Dayton......  Vidor has not done well late in the season against a weaker district.
Weaker district? Please! Vidor may not be the best in our district but our district is great. I think that Vidor can get the job done you should just worry about your own district and your own team. Not saying that its bad or anything but there is no reason for that.
 16. Hey guys, I am from Vidor and I was pulling for you guys to win on Friday night. I really wish you guys I best of luck Next year. Yall will tear it up!
 17.
as i said on another forum this game will not even be close  well maybe at the start  png has by far the better team this year  coaches make adjustments well . offense can kill ya with the pass as well as the run defense doesnt even resemble last years much better at swarming to the ball but hey dont listen to me just ask the other seven teams theyve beat also ive been told the babe will have a guest speaker in da house!!!announcer from livingston coming in to do a radio broadcast
I think it is going to be interesting who wins this game but I don't know how people can say that this team is going to blow out the other. I bet that when central went and played Livingston, people thought that Central would blow them out and Livingston came out on top. I was actually going for Central myself but I think that people are basing their predictions on a loss last week and really that loss doesn't mean "doodley squat"!! Nobody can say that they have the most complete team because anybody can lose a game or have a bad game even when they are undefeated so we will just see on Friday night.
 18. I am not perdicting a score but i'm going for Central. I wish I could see it for myself.
 19.
Your a funny dude.  We lose to Livingston AND got beat by PN-G by 30?  Those grapes are no doubt rotten, not sour.  Let's see...  the vidor game.  Vidor played good football that night.  Everyone was healthy on their squad.  We didn't play well on defense that night.  But at the same time, with this being said, our offense came to play and we rung up 50+ points.  You see, that's what a team does.  When one part of the team is not strong, the other part of the team steps up.  We have good coaching.  And at the end of the day, we got the 'W'.  That's the important thing.  Besides, this Central team have gotten better since the beginning of district. By the way, our least talented 20-4a team would ring up 50 on Caney Creek.  Stop drinking that 'haterade', man.  Makes you look foolish!
Tell 'em how it is soulja! I really hate when people judge Vidor like that. I graduated from Vidor in '08 and we did not do good at all that year because we were a very new team and that team from '08 is pretty much the same team now. Vidor plays you guys so close every year it seems like and you guys always seem to get the job done. I know for a fact that yall are going to beat Livingston and I really hope yall beat PNG. This guy just don't know anything about anything. He must be on some really strong stuff. You remember last year Vidor lost to yall 21 to 20 and the year before that we lost to yall by 6. It doesn't matter how many points you let a team score, just as long as you have more points than they do by the end of the 4th quarter. yall are definitely going to win today. GO GET 'EM JAGS!!
 20.
Bears face Raiders in pivotal 20-4A tilt Van Wade The Orange Leader LITTLE CYPRESS — Two squads that suffered tough setbacks last week both look to keep their slim playoff hopes alive in District 20-4A tonight when the Little Cypress-Mauriceville Bears welcome the Lumberton Raiders to Battlin’ Bear Stadium. The Bears (3-5,1-4) fell to third-place Vidor 49-15 last week while the Raiders (4-4, 1-4) dropped a 39-6 decision to first-place Port Neches-Groves. “It should be a good little battle,” said LC-M coach Randy Crouch. “Lumberton plays a very physical brand of football. Their linebacker (Anthony Beard) might be the best in the area.” The Bears check in averaging 275.6 yards a game offensively while the Raider defense allows 281.4. The contest will feature 20-4A’s top two leading passers in Lumberton quarterback Ryan Hughes and LC-M quarterback Hunter Gonzales. LC-M also has the area’s leading receiver in Zack Sonnier. Gonzales has completed 125-of-217 passes for 1,305 yards and seven touchdowns. Sonnier has been on the receiving end 65 times for 724 yards and seven TDs. Johnny Epps, a solid defensive back, also has 23 receptions for 225 yards and a TD receiving. Tevvin Jones leads the Bear ground attack with 467 yards and three TDs on 78 carries. Gonzales also has 267 yards on the ground and nine TDs. “Both teams are pretty evenly matched,” said Crouch. “The field could be sloppy after all the rain we are supposedly getting. It might be one of those deals where turnovers could be the deciding factor.” The Bear defense, which is allowing a district-high 355.4 yards a gain, will look to slow down a balanced Raider attack that is gobbling up 297.1yards an outing. Hughes has completed 85-of-152 passes for 1,327 yards and 10 TDs. His favorite targets have been Jesse Sparks (23-349-3), Kyler Keith (17-345-3) and Chase McDonald (14-293-1). Hughes also leads the ground attack with 364 yards and a TD on 83 carries. Tailback Ryan Asher has rumbled for 321 yards and six TDs on 76 totes. “They are extremely balanced and that Hughes kid is pretty accurate,” said Crouch. “They’ll give our defense a challenge. It should be a great game. It’s the last home game for our seniors so I know they would like to play really well.”
I really think that Lumberton has this one hands down in my opinion.
 21.
The L-Train has been downgraded to the kiddy ride in the middle of the mall.  LCM wins this one easily...28-13
If LCM wins, they won't win it easily. They are a good team this year but not good enough to call something like that. Lumberton is a very strong team that is capable of alot of things so I would just watch out.
 22.
Nederland upsets Vidor...Vidor isnt as good as they think they are.
I wouldn't speak to soon. I don't think that Vidor thinks they are good. They just put up the numbers. Anybody can be beat on any given night. The fans just have great confidence.
 23. I think that the Vidor and Nederland game is always a huge game. Its just a huge rival to me. I am a big Pirate fan. I also have a lot of respect for Ned. They play a great game and play with us tough every year. I can't make any predictions but I hope that the Pirates come out on top. As long as they play their game then they are going to win.
 24. oh you must be an indian. that score has nothing to do with the game against lcm. lets remember the central game 57 56 vidor lost by 6 inches in which they cross the goal line. vidor played central a tough game and i dont think any other team like png can do the same. I agree, I also think PNG was a new team that was still figuring out who they were. It worked out well that they had a week starting schedule giving them time to get better. Just my opinion. I don't think that you can base a win off of another win you got last week. You just clicked and played a good game. everybody has an off game but I believe that the Pirates will win this game 35-21. LCM is a diffrent team this year but who ever has their game plan and executes it right and never lets down then they win but I see vidor taking it.
