  1. Spoke with Mr. Fazio....Here are the #'s, the cost of tuition at Rice including ALL books and fees is 31,966.00..Cost of room and board is 10,000.00 on campus. This equates to 76% for the NCAA for schollies of the 11.7. As for the terms of scholarship to the athlete and parents, Rice defines as a 100% of education for the 4 year term. Which they have committed to Anthony. Anyway you look at this it is a 4 year education at Rice University for doing something you love to do, play baseball.
  2. I will verify with Mr. Fazio, he has the documentation from the Rice coaches. I will inform when I get clarification. Baseball is always so different from football, I can recite the data on the football contracts backwards.
  3. Yes this is the first of both Rice and USC's 11.7 scholarships. My understanding is that the majority of baseball coaches look for what they call tier 1 pitchers, they try to secure 1 to 3 of these type athletes depending on their needs, then the remaining of the scholarships fall into place with catchers next and then position players. This is my understanding coming from Head Coach Chad Kreuter from USC.
  4. His USC remains as a verbal @ 90%. Rice has the ability to give 100% of ALL tuition, books and fees, Rice never gives $$ for living expenses to anyone. So Rice classifies this as a 100%. Now you have heard of such a thing.....
  5. Anthony Fazio / Kelly High School USC commits to Fazio July 1 for the 2008 year
  6. A word from the private sector...KELLY # 1 Dawg Anthony Fazio QB Keeston Randall O-Line (Texas commit) Torejon Henry Receiver Taylor Carmona O-Line Dorrian Guillory O-Line Donnie Carona Fullback Punter, kicker These are the top 6 Dawgs, there are plenty of quality players through out.
  7. There is no doubt that Sulphur is a dynamic team. We have a tough schedule all year long. From Houston Kinkaid, to Houston Furr (4A) to Bridge City. We have plenty of good tough kids this year and hopefully we can hold our on against Sulphur, if so, we will be ready for our district play. We are going to be good, I just don't know how good.... I would love to see some of these 4A and 3A schools play Sulphur, it would be fun to watch. Thanks for the vote of confidence just for playing these guys....
  8. Come measure, we have measured it more than once, and it is what it is.
  9. If Kelly plays as they did against Silsbee and Jasper in the Woodville Bat Tourney, Kelly could give them all they want. The sticks were good and the pitching was good on the Kelly end....
  10. We will see, look what Kelly did against Silsbee's ace Schooling 9 hits, 1 homer..Do not underestimate the private sector....
  11. Try the Gym after basketball -- limited but anything is a plus, lots of school room discusion.
  12. Kelly's Sean Bean, Linebacker, is being heavly recruited by Trinity - Great school, Great fit for this athlete. Kelly's Anthony Fazio, Junior QB, being recruited by Baylor, great fit for this young Dawg, intelligent and fits into the Baylor offense very well. Fazio will have a remarkable year next year. Will have lots of opportunities.
  13. Guys, it is called conditioning. You condition in every sport from the beginning of the sport to the end of the sport. Conditioning is critical in all sports. Off season conditioning for football is conditioning for baseball etc. The QB, Fazio at Kelly, is the # 1 pitcher in baseball, he conditions each and everyday, he will lift and do his agility and then practice baseball after school. He will not pick up a football untill spring training. Conditioning is a must for longivity of life guys. Think about it....
  14. Lets not forget the private sector...Kelly Bulldogs QB Anthony Fazio He deserves some consideration, The absolute best athlete at Kelly, as well as the toughest. Even though Kelly lost against Bridge City, he was remarkable..Kelly could have won that game. His stats according to Coach Al Rabb: 101 / 180 1538 total passing yards 12 TD'S in only 8 games played 65.66% 512 yards rushing 4 TD'S Say what you will, this athlete is the QB watch in 2007 He deserves the consideration !!
