Bridge City had the better team, their Quarterback is legit and they deserved the win. Vidor is in a world of trouble this year, their secondary is the worst I have seen in a while. The offense runs great when your ahead or within striking distance, but it is not effective when down by a couple scores. It takes to much time off the clock and it's almost impossible to catch up when you can't(won't pass).....ala Nebraska's triple option in the 90's. As for the officials, they don't get any worse than that. For the guy who thinks he knows how much time would have ran off, thats not the point. The point is someone needs to pull their head out and start the clock. It was an unfair advantage and the officials had no idea how to handle the situation. They missed hold after hold(on both sides) mostly because home boy was so old he couldn't get in position to make a call. I swear at one point they had to stop Vidor from snapping the ball because this clown was 15 yards from his spot and limping to get there. The officials had no bearing on the outcome, but they probably shouldn't be picking up crews from The Meadows nursing home...... it was an embarrassment to say the least. Congrats Cards, you played well.... Vidor hang in there, it's a long season.

This kid will never play a down at UT. I have seen him play several times and he can't even block small high school lineman. I have even seen avoid blocks. Size can only get you so far.

THE PROBLEM WITH VIDOR IS DISCIPLINE AND FOCUS. THEY HAVE ZERO DISCIPLINE AND IT HAS BEEN THAT WAY SINCE PAT MURPHY LEFT IN THE LATE 90'S. THOSE KIDS MAKE STUPID MISTAKES AND NO ADJUSTMENTS ARE EVER MADE. EVERYTIME THEY ARE IN THE REDZONE IT IS FUMBLES, PENALTIES, AND ERRANT TIMEOUTS BEING CALLED. THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN NEDERLAND AND VIDOR IS NOT PLAYERS, SIZE, SPEED, OR ANYTHING ELSE PEOPLE THROW OUT THERE. IT IS A SYSTEM AND A CONFIDENCE THAT NEDERLAND IS GOING TO BEAT THE TEAMS THAT THEY SHOULD BEAT. NEDERLAND WAS PROBABLY THE FIFTH BEST TEAM IN THAT DISTRICT BUT THEY ARE IN THE PLAY-OFFS BECAUSE THEY EXPECT TO BE THERE. THEY BEAT THE LUMBERTON'S, LCM'S, AND OZEN'S OF THE DISTRICT. LCM HAD THEM BEAT BUT GOOD TEAMS FIND A WAY TO WIN. THEY ASSUMED THEY WOULD WIN. VIDOR DOES NOT EXPECT TO WIN. THE COACHES DO NOT COACH TO WIN THEY COACH NOT TO LOSE. EVERY YEAR YOU HEAR THE VIDOR FAITHFUL TALKING ABOUT EVERY YEAR BEING THEIR YEAR. VIDOR HAS HAD SOME VERY TALENTED TEAMS OVER THE PAST FIVE YEARS. THEY HAVE HAD ONE PLAY-OFF APPEARANCE IN THAT TIME AND NEDERLAND TOOK THEM BEHIND THE SHED IN THAT ONE. THE OTHER YEARS WERE 5-5, 4-6. THE CRAZY THING IS PEOPLE ARE OK WITH 5-5 BECAUSE THEY HAVE ALWAYS BEEN SO BAD. IF NEWMAN OR BURNET WERE TO GO 4-6, PEOPLE WOULD LOSE THEIR MINDS. IT COULD GET BETTER BUT IT WILL NOT....NOT CHANGING YOUR OFFENSE AND DEFENSE UP EVERY TWO YEARS.

And for the record.........I am not from Vidor.......I am from mid-county........but I have family from Vidor and have friends whose kids play there........but please do not be ridiculous and think that lumberton is that good.....if you were at the game you would know that it could have went either way.........lets wait a few more weeks before we start the "I told you so's"

The only thing I did not predict was the score. I thought that Vidor would win and they choked. Three fumbles deep in Lumberton territory, but that is expected from vidor. Lumberton is better than I thought I give them props. but all other predictions were true. Vidor ran crazy on them.....the defense is terrible.....Lumberton just wanted it more.....I do not think I will be broke betting against L-town though........dont pull a Vidor, think you are good, and flop next week....we all saw how good nederland really is. Like I said last week..........no mosely no win

Nederland fans kill me......"we still have a chance for the playoffs"......no you don't.......the one man team is short that one man. Even with mosely playing you guys have been getting beat. Nice job Lumberton, You guys really surprised me. Vidor gave the game away with turnovers but what else is new. PNG........ooooohhh that was scary, but im sure you guys still think your going to the playoffs.....it is going to come down to vidor and lumberton for the third spot.....last nights game could mean vidor sitting at home

Thanks WOS95 for the story........that kid from Vidor was me! Gayron Allen hit me so hard I did not know where I was.......Then coach comes over and asked me what happened....I said "YOU DIDNT SEE, I GOT THE S*** KNOCKED OUT OF ME"...He also hit me in the back earlier in the game and I thought my spine shattered....hardest hitter I have ever played against two more comes to mind though.......In the playoffs when PNG and Lamarque played the year PNG went to the state finals..........Chris Gohlke hit a Lamarque receiver coming across the middle(so hard it hurt me).....the ball was not even there and gohlke drills this poor kid and he had to be carted off...he was called for pass int ......the best was after though.....gohlke comes to the sidelines and it looks like burnett is cursing him out.... but then you see burnett pat him on the butt as if to say good job.....it was priceless! Last, Brian Smith, a RB for Vidor was hit on a sweep play and he was cut for a flip....I believe it was in 1997 at LCM...... they showed that play atleast 20 times on the tailgate party.

RAIDERNATION, Actually I have seen Lumberton play. It was the Bridge City game and my buddy coaches at B.C. I thought you guys looked ok but that was a game you easily could have lost. Second, B.C. is not really that good.....HJ almost beat them last week. I could care less about who wins the game tonight......but I think people overlook Vidor. I was at the Vidor game last week.........did not leave early.......and I think Vidor wins this game easily....I am not biased to Vidor or Lumberton........But I have watched both teams play.....The key is going to be Vidors rushing offense against Lumbertons terrible run defense.......I just can't see yall stopping Croak. I was just joking about not winning a game the rest of the year. I think you guys will beat LCM, but thats it. If Vidor wins tonight, the only game yall can win is LCM.(and I will put $1,000.00 on that)

Just wondering what everyone thought.

Why is Dayton such a good team now......they are 2-2 right.........Do you think just because they spanked yall that they are some great team. Let them play a real opponent in district before we crown them state champs. Beating down lumberton means nothing to me......It will be an every week thing.

Lumberton fans have to be the most Delusional group of individuals I have ever spoken to. (By the way L-town fans delusional means out of touch with reality). Surely people do not really believe Lumberton is going to win Friday. I would go out on a limb and say they will not win a game for the rest of the year. Beating cleveland and b.c gives no one the right to think they are good. Then after the thrashing dayton handed out, you people still believe you are good, one crackhead even said they would beat dayton if they played again. Vidor fans say they are going to win, and most don't really believe it (they are just supporting their team) you guys really think you are good and that is so funny to me. When you guys win a meaningful game then talk.

JMARC, How can you possibly think Slumberton is going to win. That run defense is scary........444 yards rushing......vidor scores early and often. Hopefully after this week we can all forget about these silly posts about slumberton being good.

RAIDERBLUE, Put that pipe down and think about what you are saying. 55-7 and you would win next time........Dugat sat out the entire second half.....they had almost 400 yards rushing......I heard they let a 10 year old get a carry and he scored. Vidor is going to run all over that terrible defense.......This has to be the funniest post I hve seen on here. Do you even play or are you the wa wa water boy. good rushing offense + terrible run defense = another but whippin! Vidor by at least two touchdowns

Yeah, BOJO is pretty funny. Plus they are not even good like Permian. If you are going to steal something atleast win a game. Just look at what nederland has done with the Stephenville shakers

He took a good shot from brad croak, who came up on a sweep and took his legs out from under him. Vidor is a very physical ball team and they have some guys that will knock your head off......good luck with that L-town. oh and by the way, if mosley don't play nederland don't win, plain and simple

I agree with L town-05......You will not be playing anybody like cleveland or new caney in this district. Do you think nederland would be 1-3 if they schedueled cathedral and kelly. The fact is lumberton fans are getting fired up over wins against 3-A opponents and start talking trash. Vidor does the same thing but atleast they have beaten a quality team. the best team lumberton has beaten this year (b.c) plays in 3-A. Vidor should win this game by three touchdowns but they probably will not because they are vidor. vidor could barely keep a 4 point lead with 18 seconds left. if moseley could have gotten two more inches everybody would be saying how bad vidor is. Of course now they are the team to beat (lol).

I have two. One was about 3 or 4 years ago Nederland v.s WOS. Im not exactly sure about the details but it was at WOS and Nederland had been compaining about hooks getting calls all game. Then in the final minutes Nederland threw a quick bubble pass that was dropped and WOS scooped it up. the refs said it was a fumble and not a forward pass. Nederland was going down to either win the game or put it away. If anybody has details fill me in. #2 was also about 3 or 4 years ago when Vidor played nederland in vidor. Nederland tried a short field goal with seconds left and the kick was blocked by a vidor DB. It was the first time vidor had beaten nederland in years.

I guess it is going to take one more butt whoopin before people jump off of the Lumberton band wagon......THEY ARE NOT VERY GOOD, WAKE UP. Let vidor play cleveland and B.C. and see what their record is. I guess people forgot Dayton spanked "L" TOWN (LOL) FRIDAY night. I do not know who's fans are more delusional (lumberton's or Vidor's). Vidor fans have said "this is our year" for about ten years now. I was at this game and do not root for either school but that was ridiculous. Vidor could have easily put that game away but everytime they made a big play a flag was thrown to bring it back. The best was when Brad Croak had a long amazing run, tried to cut back, then the ref drops a flag after croak was on the ground and the play was over. Nederland DB's basically tackled vidor receivers before the ball got there and not one pass interference call was made. I have heard the mid-county schools get calls, but did not know it was that bad. I was really shocked mosely did not punch it in to win the game though. I know one thing for sure, if mosley goes down Nederland will not win a game(except LCM). Great game, both teams played hard.

It's funny to me that Lumberton would even complain about calls. The bottom line is Lumberton is not a very good team. Different season, same story as far as I am concerned. Playing a weak non-district and everyone thinks they are the '72 Dolphins, then getting pounded in every district game.

Everyone who thinks Lumberton is going to win is ridiculous. Especially when you go by the 3-0 record when they played Evadale,Buna,and Deweyville. Dayton will win by atleast two touchdowns and Lumberton will win 1 district game against LCM.
