1. It was a great game and I am very proud of our boys for going out there and giving it their all. My son is a senior this year and It tooke all my power to not cry that they finally made it to the playoffs. I will be there to cheer them on and hopefully to state. Some tell me that I am wishing big but they do not know our boys. If they really want it they will fight for it. I have one thing else to say. IF I DO GO COMPLETELY BLIND I WANT TO THANK THOSE BOYS FOR GIVING ME ONE HELL OF A YEAR.
2. Might save him some embarassment.
I dont think hes worried about Dayton embarrassing him.Our worse loss was by 21 to PNG and 7 of those points came with under a minute to play. The other was a 1 point loss to Central and a 2 point loss in the slop to Ned. Keep thinking They will roll all over us. Being over confident can be deadly. Look what happened to them against Crosby.
Vidor lost to Nederland? And you think they can hang with Dayton? Dayton and FW was a great game. FW and Nederland was a blowout. Dayton rolls by 21!
I think that when you say Vidor lost to Nederland. It was only because the ref's did not see that the fumble that they called was really a forward pass that was not completed.
3. Posts: 426 Re: *Vidor At Lumberton/Vidor wins 14-11/comments « Reply #175 on: Today at 04:20:25 PM » Quote -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It sounded to me listening on here that no one on that football field could breathe heavy because if they did they got some type of penalty called on them If them boys could have played some football and those refs not called everything in the book this game would have been different. Both teams got blasted by penalties. It was not more Lumberton or more Vidor from what I heard. I honestly do not see why all the hatred and ugliness between the two places. I grew up down there and went to school at one of them and let me tell you "we" have not always been as good as we are now. The main reason that I pulled for Vidor was after reading so many nasty comments (Ex. calling the Pirates the "snuff gully boys?") PLEASE!!! I did not see any nasty comments aimed at Lumberton before that comment, if so, please tell me the post # and I will stand corrected. To both places there are more good people on here than bad so don't think all Lumberton people or Vidorians are all alike. I have said my peace! Good luck to both teams the rest of the year!! I will have to AGREE that both sides played their Hearts out in this game. The Ref's was calling for both teams and YES the boys were afraid to breathe because they did not want more mistakes. AS FOR HAYLIV09 you do not know all VIDOR FANS, I am and I actually waited to tell the boys from Lumberton To keep their heads up and that they played well. PLEASE make sure who you are talking about. All VIDOR FANS ARE NOT RUDE AND IMPOLITE>
4. Thanks for letting us know. Hope for a speedy recovery. Let Him know that there is alot of people praying for him and we all hope he gets better.
5. There is Something I was wondering Does any one know how the Young Man from Vidor is doing from the Hospital?
6. Where and when did the Raiders dominate? I think you missed a great game. ;D Uhhhh... See for yourself.... Team Stats Vidor Lumberton Total yards 273 361 First downs 9 20 Rushes/Yds 39/265 31/133 Average rush 6.79 4.29 Comp/Atts 1/2/0 18/28/0 Pass yards 8 228 Comp pct 50 64.29 Punts 4 1 Punting Yards 116 30 Punting Average 29 30 Fumbles/Lost 0/0 1/1 Penalties-yards 8-83 12-80 like i said. if we didn't have that in the red we win. Plain and simple. The Pirates fought hard and they came out on top Quit your crying.
7. i was at the Lumberton game and I will have to say that BOTH teams played hard. I saw alot of mistakes from the REF's, But the Boys had fun and played their hardest. Lumberton Hold your heads up and know that you were fighting to the end.
8. From a mother that was watching this game I was at the fence the whole two over times. They(both teams) played wonderful. It was a game of intense plays. I for one will always be at the games rooting my son on. But I will say we did get in on that last play.
9. believe so too about them getting in and the refs did not call but like you said those boys can hold their heads up high and be very proud of themselves. they definitely gave me heart failure lol.
10. Having a heart attack just hearing! My heart way pounding and I was there. Our boys showed their true hearts and played an great game. I was cheering and rooting till the end.
11. Our boys might be big but i will stand behind them one hundred percent in kicking your sorry butt.
12. I agree both teams played real well. They did make a lot of fumbles but who wouldn't in that type of weather. I know by playing football with my son it is hard to hold on to the ball in the rain or wet conditions. I just thank God thaqt no one got hurt seriously. As a mom I will be at all the games cheering on my son. I will be the loudest and most supportive fan in the stands and put it out there for all Vidor fans to show theire suppoort and come to the games.
13. I agree I BELIEVE this is our year too. Lets see those Vidor Pirates win for once. I am a mom that will be at all games being the loudest chearing on my team even if they by chance get beat. I will tell them to play their best and they will be the best. Watch whos team fills the stands more. every game I have gone to the pirates has had the biggest crowd of supporters. Sometimes that is what the teams need to win games to to see that they have support on thier side so I am reaching out to all Vidor fans to show up and show your team Spirit.
14. I think the Vidor Pirates has a good chance and I am one mom that will be at every game to see my son play. I think Central is scared because they have had scouts at the last three games watching our boys. I say that they will go to District or give it a darn good go for it.
15. The field was extremely mushy and I'd have to say i disagree with the ball being wet overall. the balls were switched in every other play. The ball was a little wet however due to when it touches the ground of course before the center snaps it. Vidor didn't play ugly other than a few suprise hits by HJ when Vidor fumbled, HJ just played well. And Vidor did their share of roughing at the bottom of the piles too. I watched some of their players do it as well and talked to a few HJ players afterwards and saw they had been stepped on a few times. But of course this is always going to happen at some point and time. Overall Vidor showed class and i think it was a good game for HJ to be apart of. just to let everyonbe know the balls wasnt switched out every play. it was more like every three plays. so please get your facts straight before you talk. lol
