  1. Late to class? I don't go to school. What r u talking about? You were late getting to class today weren't your sport777?
  2. Were any of those answers your opinions or was it all in good fun?
  3. honestly, BC lost because of what the last couple sentences from the interview said. BC walked out thinking they already won, but after the half is when they came out with a different mind set. but im not going to make any excuses for that, it was a year ago, BC will win as big as they want it to be, and i think this game can be a shut out Were you at last's years game. I am not gonna say anything specific b/c I am a true BC fan and kids are kids and pointing them out is wrong. It is parents, coaches, politics that disturb me. Coaches start players, some for right reasons, some not. Anyone questioning the politics at good ol BC obviously never went there. Anyway, we should have won the game, we were better talent wise, we were at home etc. It had nothing to do with we thought we'd win by walking out there. We were 0-10 the year before, we hardly were strutting around. We tried to throw too much!! We don't throw well- is that a revelation to anyone, I am not blaming just the QB. Be serious, of course the line has something to do with it as well as the scheme. Also, we like to throw deep too much. If we are gonna stick to the spread , then we need to make quick passes that set up the deep ball while slipping in run plays that surprise everyone. I agree BC should win big, but Kountze is hacked from getting whipped and their at home. So we better be ready!!!! Go Big Red!!!
  4. I would like to know that also..................he was one of the leading receivers in district as a soph and just about every play manages to get open, but last year and now this year.............................he will never get a pass and it's blatantly obvious that the qb refuses to throw to him or the coach has told the qb not to throw to him........................either way, after his soph. year he has been taken out of the receiving practically all together and had an outstanding year then and the numbers speak for themselves. And your question has been asked by numerous people, but not sure of the answer other than what I said above. And it's become so obvious that it's laughable. jacf, let me apologize for sounding so negative in the above answer.................actually its all in BC's scheme of things I guess so whatever reason he got yanked out of the limelight is all fine and not surprising at all. But, at least he has a touchdown pass this year so that's a good thing, lol! And he hopefully will have baseball to look forward to as it is his last year and he did very well there last year. Sounds like someone is upset and has a chip on their shoulder because they think a certain someone should get the ball more and be in the limelight more than he is. One player doesnt make a team and where i come from you usually have to prove yourself to earn your limelight. Be excited for the cardinals that they played an awesome game instead of whining that it wasnt played how you wanted it to be played. Responding to the last post, If having to prove yourself on the field was our top agenda at BC things would be different and I wouldn't be having this discussion. We put people in positions when they havn't even had to compete for it. They just get it!! Politics!!
  5. Luke Rhodes, by far, has the best hands on the team. He has lost a step but does manage to get open. The problem is, the QB's are inaccurate on short passes and like to throw deep, their best attribute. I don't think anybody will disagree, that knows, that Lemoine and Rhodes have had their problems but, Lemoine wants to win and it ain't that!! You might be surprised at the times he runs, he is certainly not slow even losing a step. But point is, he will get open short, long, mid, but very very seldom will get the ball. Most coaches would have buillt on his ability and great hands and used it, but not the case. And with the receivers on the team, seems like BC should be a threat to the teams we play. Something just is not right and again I believe this team is loaded with talent, just the talent is going to waste by not being used. We beat Liberty, should win this Friday, but what about district...................are we prepared for the teams we are going to face? That is where the real "teams" stand up, so I hope we can be ready and competetive then. And we can't live and die on the long pass, so why don't we get someone in who can throw the short pass if that is the case. And who was the JV qb? I agree Rhodes should be our go to receiver. Our passing scheme is one of the problems. We leave too much up to the QB for high school football. He has to make reads like an NFL QB. Too difficult! Just have a goto guy and a few others and throw quick easy routes. If the QB can't do it, find someone whocan. This team does have alot of talent and if we don't start utilizing all of it, we won't make the playoffs. I don't know the kids name, I worked with a guy who went to the JV games last year and he told me the kid could start on varsity at QB. sport777...reading your posts gives me tired head your agenda on this board is apparent, and it fits your personality completely. please stop doing what you are doing. What agenda, I have no kid in the program. What is my personality?? Sounds like you don't like a little honest discussion. If Rhodes has the best hands on the team, which no one will dispute, then why no catches in the 2 scrimmages or the game. We didn't even throw to him once. We lost to Kountze last year, a total embarrassment, because we couldn't complete a pass. We had been in the playoffs for several years and even made it to the quarters when Johnny Dishon was QB. Losing to a mediocre 2A team was bad. I don't want to see that happen again. We have too much talent in the district we are in to not go to the playoffs. It is time to put politics aside, and do whats best to win on friday night!!

  7. We broke 2 that were called back due to penalties. These 2 runs totaled at least 100 yards of offense. Dishon had a big game. That year on Varsity last year gave him some experience that will help the Cardinals this year. Don't you agree? What speed are Cardinals not utilizing? Can they block as well? The Cards need all the blocking they can get on the Offensive side of the ball to help move the ball. The cards aren't utilizing Hydes speed enough. If He or Dishon would have broke open on either of those plays they would have scored, even though they were called back. Lemoine and Menard are big and strong, but will get caught and they are featured runners on this team. I agree we are weak on the line offensively, but something went right b/c we ran the ball affectively. I've been told by several people that last years JV QB was fast and ran the ball great last year and was a very accurate passer. Where's he at, did he move, or is he still on JV?? I realize that Lemoine is the man this year, but what about next?? I agree Dishon had a big game, he is a great safety and a good receiver. tremendous athlete, should get about 5-6 carries a game on reverses and screens.
  8. Luke Rhodes, by far, has the best hands on the team. He has lost a step but does manage to get open. 9. Were you at the game? We play cover 2 alot where the corners are isolated with deep halves. If they play too close they could get burned deep. We give that up, the out routes, to give better run support with the safeties. Its our scheme, not the secondaries fault. You are right about the offense, we scored one TD and one long field goal. Liberty was terrible except for the QB throwing to number 6 and we gave that to them. Defense played great especially defensive line and the safeties on run support. Risinger will be first team all district. Offensively, we either need to get better on the short throws or run more. We like to throw deep too much and with the spread its all about quick short stuff that opens up the deep ball occasionally, while running the ball in between. We ran affectively with the misdirection and if we had more speed would have broke some for TD's. Need to utilize the speed we have more!!!!
  10. I stand by what I said. I don't have a dog in the fight, don't have a kid in the program. I don't have nothing against the Dishon kid. I hope the best for him, it ain't about him, its about building a program and that starts with numbers! I know a lot of kids got bitter and quit because they were leapfrogged by freshmen who never showed that they were better at the same level they were playing, the JV. If Menard and Dishon were so good then why not play them on JV for a few games to start the year , then if they are better, it will show and then move them up. No one would complain then. Menard got newcomer of the year because let me see.... he was a newcomer. He deserved that and is an awesome athlete. Dishon should have never been on varsity, period. They didn't need him like they needed Menard, they had several receivers and several DBs his equal or better. You have to build a program and that requires getting every abled kid to play. Kids don't want to play when their leapfrogged by someone who is a freshmen and never proved they were better than you. I'm not minimizing these kids' work ethic, just think the program is headed in the wrong direction. I bet you won't see any more freshmen on varsity in a long time. Matter of fact, Dishons older brother was the best player I have ever seen as a freshmen and he wasn't moved up to varsity until he was a sophomore. Tarver knew that wouldn't do anyone anygood. The ONLY time a freshmen should be on varsity, is if he is the absolute best player on the field or you lose alot of players to a freak accident.
  11. I actually agree with y'all on that issue. The problem was that the JV had better receiverslast year than Dishon, who dropped several passes last year. Also, they had better DB's, although he was good for a "redshirt frshman", they had guys who were seniors who could have done better. AS far as Menard is concerned, I agree the kid is a beast and did great as a true freshman last year. He has a cannon fora arm but is very inaccurate and should never play ahead of Lemoine at QB. What sense does it make, if he is the best RB, to take him out of that position, if Lemoine gets hurt, and move him to QB. Now u have 2 backups playing. Your QB is very inaccurate now and teams willfigure that out and key on him running the ball. Then you won't be able to throw or run. Believe me, there are a couple of kids who can play back up QB and hand off the ball to Menard and still run the other plays on offense. Seniors should play ahead of freshmen unless the freshmen areleaps and bounds better, which they weren't in this case.
  12. Josh Lemoine threw more interceptions than TD's last year. He had a couple in more than 1 game.
  13. I was not there at the scrimmage, was at the Lumberton scrimmage, but talked to someone who was there. We are not in good shape and was dragging at the end of the scrimmage while Shepherd looked fresh. Also, we were able to run the ball effectively enough to score 2 different times and decided to throw and had to turn the ball over on downs. Also, we had key penalties in both scrimmages that halted good drives. I heard different stories, one was no pass blocking and 1 was no mobility at QB. The Lumberton scrimmage showed both were a problem. We had penalties in both scrimmages that show lack of discipline. Defense looks good, I hear. Wasn't that good against Lumberton but that was the first scrimmage against a big 4 A team. It is time to win, we have 10 returning starters and should make the playoffs for sure. Maybe I am crazy, but was our second team QB the starting running back? It looked that way in the Lumberton scrimmage. Why is that? If the starter goes down, then you have 2 backups in the game, I have never seen this before at any level of football!!
