The recent trend and good thing about Nederland football is that they have traditionally gotten better as the year has progressed. In other words, they haven't peaked to early. (With the exception of the non-playoff year, knock on wood) This is a compliment to the coaching staff in Nederland. They do a good job of bringing the kids along with patience.

Not gonna change the offense/team identity for one week during the season, much less a non-district week. Nederland ran the ball as well as they have all year during the second half of the Waller game. A good sign this week would be to see the progression of that running game along with the confidence of T.Smith.

Kinda hard to leave the Nederland staff out of this one huh? They may not be the best, but they certainly deserve the same consideration as some of the others mentioned in this thread. Other than WO-S and Newton, who else in the area has been to the playoffs as many times as Ned has under Coach Nuemann?

As of now, it looks like the big stuff will miss us according to weather.com. Still may be some lingering showers but the heavy stuff has moved east into Lake Charles and Baton Rouge. God must love southeast Texas football

I think it will make a lot of games closer as well Coop. Waller runs the ball a lot and with the horses they're bringing on the offensive line, the Nederland defense is going to have to grind this one out. But, you know, some people say a slick field is better for the wideouts because they know where they're going/where the ball should be.

Went to run at Bulldog Stadium this morning around 6:30 right after the hard stuff hit... ...field was holding a lot of water on the sidelines and both end zones. I know it drains pretty well over there if we can just get it to stop long enough, but it'll be a sloppy night for both sets of Dogs on Jerry Mallory Field tonight. However, if you want to look at the bright side of it, maybe this is as close as we'll get to a hurricane this season...hopefully

This place will go into meltdown mode if Vidor drops those first two in district.

Let's put this whole thing into a little perspective...Nederland has played one game. I think a fair assesment of their potential/season would be better suited for post-Waller conversations when we get an idea of how the offense responds to Tyler Smith. A prediction at the outcome of their season at this point would be insufficient and unfair.

PN-G has one practice under a new coach, new system, and new quarterback...and all of the sudden their guy will lead the area in passing yards? I don't understand that. Please explain your position logically, not through purple and white tented glasses. The obvious choices are Johnson from Silsbee and Bellow from Nederland because they are the two most experienced passers in the area. The Merka kid from Crosby will light it up as well.

Even though its no longer baseball season, the fall is a crucial factor in every ballplayers success come spring time.

Hey all, My name is Ryan Brauninger, and I have been a long time lurker on this website but this is my first post. This forum seems to be an effective avenue for information and updates on local baseball action, and since I have a background in both communications and baseball I figured I would give it a shot. Anyway, I was wondering if there were any Select Teams in the SE Texas/SW Louisiana area that were looking for a coach/instructor to help out during the fall. I have been giving lessons all summer, but as usual those tend to slow down when school starts back up. I love working with kids and developing ball players, and I believe that through baseball you can turn ball players into quality young men. If anybody has any information for me, please PM me when you can. Also, I will be willing to answer any questions about my qualifications/resume as a player or coach. Thanks in advance.
