1.
OF scored all 5 runs in 1st inning.
Huh?
2. BC has started hitting the ball, and the timing is right. The offense looks better the last few weeks than it has all year. Pitching has stayed seemed to stay about constant for where it has been all year. Not greatly overpowering but enough to keep things even and interesting. The one worry seems to be defense. I have not seen Jasper play this year but from what I have read and have seen over the past few years they are very capable of taking advantage of errors. Give them extra outs in an inning and they will respond by putting runs on the board. BC seems to be getting stronger and at the right time of the season. Keep the errors down and continue to hit and BC comes out on top.
3.

I know Jasper has played post season in prior years at Nederland, might be partial but it's a great place for playoff baseball.
Nederland doesn't have the room to seat the fans Jasper and BC bring. Not a fun atmosphere at all when your crammed in the bleachers. JMO
I have to agree with Stringer. The last BC-Jasper play-off game in Nederland was not fan friendly. Not nearly enough room around the stands or down the fences. It was about 10 deep down the 3rd base side where BC fans were. It will be packed and it will be loud. I wonder if they have checked Minute Maid. Might draw a bigger crowd than the 'Stros.
4. talk about some ridiculous numbers to all lol they definally had more than some great games
5.
always waits till late in the game to try something new and not even practice half of the crap u have to mix it the plays and keep the def on there toes when u do the same few plays over and over game in and game out your going to loose
If I'm correct and I think I am, that coach ended a long playoff drought. He must be doing something right. Congrats to vidor on a great season, good luck broncos.
6. By the win/loss records and diistrict finish, Cleveland should win. However being a BC fan for more than 45 years, I will be pulling for the Cards all the way. Win or loose I think it is great to see BC get to where they are. Two years ago they were 0-10 for the year and being greatly outplayed on the feild. Coach Stump has done a good job getting things turned around. With the younger players contributing this year we can hope for continued success in the years to come. There is another string on this website for coach of the year. Don't know that the work in BC would be best in the area but certainly deserves recognition and credit. 7. What a heck-of-a ballgame. Both teams needed this win so much to stay in the playoff picture. It's not always about the plan but how you adapt to the influences of the battle. Coach Stump along with his staff and team showed good adaptation to the conditions with the weapons available during that game last night. Orangefield came out strong early and put up points, needing then to hold BC at the end of the game. While the BC offense did not have lot of success moving the ball and the defense stuggled trying to contain the Orangefield defense, things turned in the 2ND. My opinion of success is not how good your first plan is but how well you adapt. BC did a great job last night, the coaches scheming and then the players executing. My hat's off to Orangefield. Being a BC fan I of course am much more excited by a BC win. But the Bobcats were just as responsible for making this game exciting and thrilling to watch. What Orangefield has done this year has been very, very impressive. Sadly, only one team can claim victory. But both should be proud. This was a very good game under very horrible condiitions.
8. I agree, but this is not the beginning. Yet a promising outlook to continue a "dynasty".
9. Why do you call this next season the beginning of a dynasty. BC has had a very strong baseball program for many years. How many district titles do they have since going into this district? I think the only season they didn't finish on top of the district was the '07 season when they were second to Jasper, who was the eventual state champion. Even when competing in the larger 4A disrict, the little town of BC still could hold their own. The youth programs of the community have done an excellent job of preparing the young talent for their later careers. Not to take anything away from the success the younger youth have had (I loved wathing the BCLL team on ESPN) but to say the beginning of a dynasty is coming kind of takes away from the hard work and success their predecesors have had. BC has enjoyed a very long run of success. I had the opportunity to watch my son participate these last two seasons and that just made it even more special. He has graduated now and both of us look forward to keeping up with the program in the coming years as fans of BC Baseball.
10. Freddy is still recovering from Freddy vs. Jason couple years ago Jason cut his head off in one of the movies, so i would imagine that would take a good amount of time to recover from
11. did WO-S play their starters the entire game against LC-M?
12. This Kountze defense isn't the best out there. Woodville put up 59 points on kountze and also held them to a goose egg...HJ didn't even allow Woodville to get any good drives going and put up 26 and only allowed 7. Good win for BC, but don't start thinking BC will be dominate every game. a simple congrats on the win would have been ok. i'm pretty sure BC knows that our football program has a long way to go before we get to where we were a couple years ago, we're just happy to keep improving each year. on the other hand i believe Matt Menard and Cameron Dishon will flourish this year, kids have a lot of talent. look for them to be a huge asset in football and baseball this year. Josh Lemoine is also putting together a nice start to the season
13. If you are taking bids, Vidor bids 1 can of "pork and beans", "1 spoon" and a "P38" for your services. ;D Does anyone know what a "P38" is? Is it a plane? Is it a pistol? I've carried one on my key ring for years. It's a can opener. Found this history info below. During the WWII, Korean and Vietnam Wars when hungry GI's were ready to dive into their delicious meals of K or C-Rations they used their trusty P-38s to open the cans. No it wasn't the famous WWII fighter plane or a German pistol, it was an amazingly simple little piece of 1-1/2 inch stamped metal that was developed in just 30 days during the Summer of 1942 by the Subsistence Research Laboratory in Chicago. It's official designation is 'US ARMY POCKET CAN OPENER' or 'OPENER, CAN, HAND, FOLDING, TYPE I', but it is more commonly know by its nickname the P-38 which it supposedly acquired from the 38 Punctures required to open a C-Ration can. It is also known by many as a "John Wayne" by those in the Navy and Marines because he was shown opening a can of C-Rations using a P-38 in a WWII training film. From then on Sailors and Marines referred to them as a "John Wayne". Originally P-38s came wrapped in brown Kraft paper packets with a diagram and directions how to use printed on it. About a dozen P-38s came packed in a case of C-Rations but eventually because everyone was hoarding them only 3 were included in a case (read Rations in Korea note). These handy gadgets have adorned the dog tag chains and key rings of WWII, Korean and Vietnam war vets ever since opening their first can of C-rats with one.
14. If you do want to question boundaries, start with the San Antonio team. During the game they listed player home towns from Florida, California and many other places far from San Antonio. Lil' Ole BC has had a long stretch of very strong baseball. Looks like the well will be plentiful for a number of years to come. Congrats to all players and coaches, you represented your league well.
15. Im sure they were offered to play but probably have other plans. You are correct LHP. Thats why I didn't think it was that important to put out all these rosters so quickly so people would complain about who was left off maybe not knowing the whole story. I know by fact and personal knowledge that both of you are incorrect on this assumption. Not complaining about no offer, just curious about the result of the process. If your coach put your name in the hat then it was offered. The umpires did not make the decision of who made a team. I think there were some schools who did not even put any names in so ......... This time it is not the Umpire Fault !!!!! interesting.......
