Playoff Bracket

Explain the difference in divisions and regions. Please.

There is a Division 1 and a Division 2. In 1A-4A where 3 teams go to the playoffs 1 team out of the 3 (the school with the largest enrollment) goes Division 1. The other 2 go Division 2. In 5A where 4 teams go the two biggest schools go D1 and the other 2 go D2. Division 1 is made up of the "big schools" in the state. There is a D1 state champ and a D2 state champ in each classification.

The state is also broken up into 4 regions. Region 1 consists of districts 1-8. Region 2 consists of districts 9-16. Region 3 consists of districts 17-24. Region 4 consists of districts 25-32.

Hope that helps.

Out of the 3 teams advancing in each district, the team with the highest student enrollment, (reguardless of where they placed in district standings), is the Division I representative. The remaining two schools (with smaller enrollment numbers) are the Division II representatives.

In 22-4A, Ned has the highest enrollment between them, Dayton & Central, so Ned is the DI rep., and Dayton & Central will be the DII reps. from District 22.

Click the link below for a tentative playoff bracket that someone found last week. The schools are penciled in because at the time it was posted, nothing was finalized yet.

Here is a link that has all brackets for all Divisions of all Classes. The one I posted in another thread had some flaws in it, but here is the final official list from a different site.
