PNG vs Friendswood...Wed, Fri, Sat

Recommended Posts

I cannot bite my tongue any longer... I was at all 3 games and did not sit close enough to FW's fans to hear comments, if there were any.....but what I DID see in game 3 on a couple of occassions  was the FW BASEBALL PLAYERS themselves make jesters to the PNG fans...like "cut throat" waiving goodbye & saluting to the PNG fans. One of the times was after FW hit a homerun and they other was at the end of the game. To my knowledge when PNG won 17-0 the day before there were no comments to FW players or to the fans..... they just celebrated with each other after the win. Just thought that was really sad to have players act that way. I would rather see quality players lose with pride than to see a display like that again....just a shame! Just my thoughts. Congrats to PNG players & fans...what a ride!!

Wow, what a spewing of hate towards my friend fwstangs.  And, no one with the B@#$s to offer a simple congratulations to the Friendswood boys.  What a bunch of sore losers you folks are from PNG!

And to monkeyblood, I just love it when people from a "community" like PNG try to preach about how they supposedly raise their kids to some higher standard.  I recall that higher standard being on display during football.  But, hey, whatever keeps you going, and it it helps you rationalize the fact that you are stuck living where you live, more power to you!

Has anybody bothered to add up how PNG (heck the whole GT) fared against those rich, spoiled Friendswood kids this year (include all the academic, music, theater and art stucff).  I am guessing its been about Friendswood 30 and PNG ZERO!

Go Indians -- but it will have to be next year!   ;)

Well well well look who shows there face long time no read my friend. You know its real funny we dont see or hear from you after you guys went down in the playoffs back in the football season. Yes we have not forgotten your very mature ways. Just wanted to get on here and say welcome back. Talking about your sore losers. Dang I missed the mature comments. Did not take long to remember how smart they were.

Once again hammerhead, you are wrong.  But, hey, that's no real surprise.

The beauty of this forum is you can go back and verify whether what people say about past activities and posts is true.  And, in this case it will verify that you are -- as usual -- wrong.  I was on here after the football team lost in the playoffs.  The truth is that I may be a gloating winner, but I am not a sore loser -- plenty of people who don't (yes, friend, contractions call for an apostrophe -- oh, and it's "their" and not "there") really care for me can verify that.

Nice try (sore) loser!

Then you were not watching. The game number 1 pitcher made several gestures to our dugout and stands - I have seen worse, but it was in the same behavior category as you just mentioned. In addition your first base coach was ragging our kids at the end of a 17-0 game, really classy. There were many many comments made by the PNG players during the rout that were uncalled for. Both sides let their testoserone get the best of them several times, but wow - enough to sterotypee a whole town and team - what a shame, more of the same from this board.  We have quality players who win and lose with pride also, try to get to know them before you make judgements. The bigger shame is parents like you who judge people so quick, I wonder what else you judge about people and have passed this onto your kids! Now I retract that, but wanted you to see how one can make leaps, as you did, on one piece of data. Simply not right.

Which one, we all have done a lot of generalizations - like the guy who bit his tongue, and should have kept biting it!!

Did not mean to strike a nerve. I am not here to "bash" any highschool kid, yaya or argue with anyone. I was only stating what I saw and what was obvious to others on the field. I also said "to my knowledge" I didn't witness anything else. I don't think anyone should show bad sportsmenship and I don't agree with what PNG did if that is true. I am not judging anyone..like I said I only stated what I saw-didn't make it up. I believe both teams have quality kids that's why they went so far in the playoffs.

Agree with everything you said scalpem, it is not a community contest, but we manage to turn it into that. You are right about Brenham, they look very tough and I agree with your assessment! I wish I had some money to loan ya, but mine is all tied up in my 4 vacation homes!! JK!!

Reworded my previous post. Both teams and both communities are at fault here. Back when I played jesters, trash talk or any kind of disrespect was not tolorated by a coach or a parent. Now for some reasons it is acceptable. Answer: Professional Sports and TV. It is not just Friendswood and PNG, it is all schools. Times have changed.

Total agreement - you will never see my kid making those motions!! But many teams have players who do it right and those who do it wrong - you can not indict a community for that.

I agree. You don't judge a whole community for the actions of a few. But it happens, sad but true.

    • Manchin may get it but any mention of the radical left that wanted to get rid of the filibuster and end almost 220 years of history because the Democrats are mad?  The House and Senate are obviously different legislative bodies with entirely different election processes and rules for a reason. The House can vote on laws with a simple majority vote. The Senate put rules in place that it would make it much tougher to pass laws. Laws should be difficult to pass. The Senate is often the holdup of the right and left. It takes 60 votes to break the filibuster so any law will almost certainly require agreement at least in part, from opposing sides of an issue. Because they can’t get laws passed, the radical left is like a baby having a tantrum and wants to change over 200 years of history and make it potentially ridiculously easy to pass laws. I have seen current poll maps and it is possible for the Republicans to sweep into complete power in November but by the tiniest margin. That would possibly mean that a single vote margin in both houses could enact what you might call the radical right laws. There would be nothing that the Democrats could do to stop any legislation whatsoever if the left (they are all radical, minus Manchin) got their filibuster rule changed.  That is where the current filibuster comes into play as any new law would require several Democrats to agree with the majority Republicans and vice versa.  Do you want the potential for your radical right to have free rein as the radical left wants by killing the filibuster or is the radical left just as (if not more) dangerous? Let’s see if we have a history in this area? Oh yeah, the Democrats changed the rules in the Senate to allow federal judges to not have to overcome the filibuster. Obama was not getting his federal judge nominations passed and being angry, they changed the rules instead of nominating more moderate justices. They were warned that it would come back to bite them. They didn’t care and chose the nuclear option to change the rules. Oops! Any guess how Trump got all of his Supreme Court nominees passed against strong Democrat opposition? The Democrats got rid of the filibuster for federal judges after another tantrum   So when you are so worried about the radical right, are you equally concerned in what the radical left is always doing by changing rules and history which were put into place just for situations like we are in? So while Manchin gets it, what about his other 50 colleagues (49 + Harris)?  What concerns you more, Abbott and Paxton or the Democrats who want to make it to where if the Republicans do take over, they can go wild… at least in your mind?
    • MODS please remove that ISD twitter link! I had no idea it would copy the whole posting. I only highlighted the portion about the venue change. Sorry about that!

    • Come on dude, don’t take anything away from the kids on the field. If you want to talk uncharacteristic, we made what 3 or 4 errors in game one. Y’all had 2 EARNED runs.  Defense is normally our strong suit. Your ace didn’t strike out a single one of our kids. Like I said also, you did not out hit us in game 1. Hell you barley out hit us in game 2. We had all the uncharacteristic walks. Josh pitched a hell of a game is what made that game what it was.
