AllTime Great SETX QB's

Recommended Posts

You must be a youngin to not have Todd Dodge or Craig Stump on your list. I believe both were Parade All Americans.
Another good one from the 80's was Kenny Ford (SFA/Ok. State).

1. James Brown - WB (great QB and athlete. Great career at UT)
2. Dustin Long - PNG (great QB and leader. Led team to state title game. set passing records at A&M/was 2nd in Payton Award while at SHSU)
3. Todd Dodge - TJ (revolutionalized the Tx HS QB. Led team to state title game. Only successful UT QB in the 80's (10-1))
4. Cody Green (If we include Dayton, great dual threat. Led team to state title game. Time will tell at Nebraska, looks good so far)
5. Chip Ambres - WB (tremendous athlete who was a top 5 MLB pick and chose BB over FB (A&M), may have been a mistake?)
6. Craig Stump - TJ (continued the tradition Dodge started. very productive at A&M)
7. Dustin Hood - Ned (very good HS QB. led Ned to semis I believe, which was farther than any Ned team since the 50's)
8. Kenny Ford - SFA (athletic QB. led SFA to semis. didn't play alot at OSU)
9. Jeremy Johnson - Silsbee (very athletic QB. Helped Silsbee dethrone WOS as DC. Will see how WVU treats him)
10. Jeff Granger - OField (two sport star. played BB and FB at A&M. made it to the pros as a pitcher)

Just my opinion

Are you talking high school career at QB or beyond? If only HS, I thought Earl Thomas played QB at WOS as did Dakari Pearson at Dayton.  Both ended up at UT as db's but they were pretty good behind center if my memory serves me correctly.

Earl did not play QB at WOS. That was Beasley and Bevil while Earl was a Mustang.

Gonna be hard to improve upon!  I was fortunate to be standing by the end zone where Scott fielded the ball.  What a play to behold!  Scott fielded the ball, just stood there in that very spot until the entire Silsbee team converged on him.  He ran right at a couple Silsbee players, one quick side step and he was off to the other end zone untouched.
