Based on what I've been reading, this is a no brain-er. Since my team and the teams I support have no chance next week, I thought I would just talk about something real.

I do not have access to all the stats that akifan has, but I attempted to look up some of the current players for both teams on Rivals.com. That pinko commie site had nothing on those boys from the Neches River Bottom! What's up with that?

Heck, the QB at LT, Michael Brewer, did not even start at QB last year. I bet LT's offensive line is no where near as BIG as PN-G's.

And defense? PNG #8! Nuff said!

Tradition? PNG hands down! LT was not even playing football in 1975! Look at what Lake Travis has done the past 10 years:

2008   16-0    4A D1 State Champions
2007   15-1    4A D2 State Champions
2006     8-3    25 4-A District Champs
2005   11-1    Bi-District Champions
2004     8-3    27 4-A District Champs
2003     3-7
2002     0-10
2001     1-9
2000      7-5    Bi-District Champions

We all know what happened in the past, stays in the past. We're talking about 2009! Right here! Right now!

PNG 52
LT     7    (LT will score late when PNG pulls the starters, AGAIN!)

Its not really PNG you are mad at lets be honest. Remember I got a phone # for sponge bob itchy bottom to a thearopist who specializes in these sort of things. I will share it with you if you like.   LOL     ;D

What the heck is a "theraopist"? Sounds kinda wierd.  But yes, I would like that number. I am having some "issues". It seems that unlike PNG fans, I am unable to talk out of my behind.

Let's see. You can't bring yourselves to an educated discussion about a possible match-up so you resort to trash talking and name calling (which is fine by me due to the middle school level quality of debate coming from the opposing side).

When you stop chasing your tail and realize you are back at square one with a mediocre team and limited chance to win you have to play the smartarse and bring up a game that will not happen and 99% of PN-G fans realize would be a very long shot to compete in. What point are you making. That you are not very funny?

It never fails to amaze me how many OTHER teams fans find the need to interject their opinion into a PN-G discussion.

I understand it is hard to like us when you can't be us.

If this were to happen, I'm going to win the lottery tonight.  First off, they would meet in the semi's, not the finals.  The state title will be a LT vs. Longview rematch, or LT vs. on of the Denton schools (Guyer, or Ryan)

This state title game is still 7 weeks away, PNG needs to worry about beating Central before they can dream of taking on the 2-time defending state champions.

I am a PNG fan, I love their tradition, but this PNG team isn't a state title caliber team.  They may have exceeded expectations, and are possibly one of the more surprising teams in the state, but I think the jury is still out on them as far as being a top flight team.  9-0 is a great record and speaks for itself, but who have they beat that would suggest they would play into December.  I just don't think they are at a level of a Lake Travis, or Longview, yet.

Best of luck to the Indians, I hope you prove me wrong.

This posting is a serious discussion about the impending game between PNG and LT. I read over 20 pages on a similar thread about how great PNG really is. Since I am uneducated, I can only assume that the only logical conclusion to this football season is to match the two best teams in the State. I happen to think Lake Travis is one of those teams. Therefore, based on the superior genetics and football intelect of the PNG fans, the other team would have to be the Indians. What is so wrong with that?

It is not funny. It is another lame attempt by a bh fan to start crap by starting a new thread for people to pile onto.

Call it what you want, but it is obvious that BH wished it could be everything PN-G is.

How many PN-G fans do you see starting lame posts that have nothing to do with PN-G? None. It takes anothers teams fan to start the threads.

Nice job BH fans.....

You laugh, but 10 years ago a PNG team very similar to this one came out of nowhere and ran the table all the way to state, eventually losing to Stephenville in the title game. That team beat about 4 undefeated teams that were all ranked in the AP top ten during the playoffs that year. Yet, PNG themselves were never ranked in the top ten all year until the final AP poll where they were #2, even ahead of Division 1 winner Texas City. I'm just saying, never say never.

I would have to disagree with you. I think they are comparable except at QB. Offensive line play this year might be better and DB's play the ball better. The 99' team had a better overall offense. I think this defense is as good as the 99' team.

That 1982 PNG team was good also. RSS went into the Reservation in '82 (or 82' if you prefer) and walked out with a 10-6 victory. Oh, it IS sweet to live in the past.

    • No offense, but both sides do it.  The Rs in Texas want to do away with decades of precedent and demand that Dems are no longer given chair positions on any committees in the Tx House. It sounds reasonable enough, until you arrive at a point when the Ds enjoy a single seat majority in the house, select the most leftist speaker of all times, and the refuse to give Rs any say in the legislative process by refusing to give them any committee chairs.     Experience has shown me that any time a party seeks to consolidate power in a legislative body, it backfires.    What I don’t like is a world where we cheer for Manchin for doing his own thing, but also re-elect guys like Paxton and Patrick when they make threats to R Legislators if they don’t do exactly what the Radical Right demands. Our Rep here in Hardin County lost his spot for voting against private school vouchers-his wife is a teacher. He also voted his conscience on the Paxton impeachment.  It cost him his seat…. Not because of the will of the voters in his district, but because if millions of outside dollars pumped into the race from outside the district and even an endorsement of his unknown challenger by Donald Trump himself.    Why do people like you applaud Manchin for being his own man and then vote against Phelan for doing the same thing?
    • We'll see. I don't trust us.
    • Starting pitching has been shaky the last few weeks due to some injuries outside of Hagen Smith.  He goes tomorrow, so y’all should be fine
    • Manchin may get it but any mention of the radical left that wanted to get rid of the filibuster and end almost 220 years of history because the Democrats are mad?  The House and Senate are obviously different legislative bodies with entirely different election processes and rules for a reason. The House can vote on laws with a simple majority vote. The Senate put rules in place that it would make it much tougher to pass laws. Laws should be difficult to pass. The Senate is often the holdup of the right and left. It takes 60 votes to break the filibuster so any law will almost certainly require agreement at least in part, from opposing sides of an issue. Because they can’t get laws passed, the radical left is like a baby having a tantrum and wants to change over 200 years of history and make it potentially ridiculously easy to pass laws. I have seen current poll maps and it is possible for the Republicans to sweep into complete power in November but by the tiniest margin. That would possibly mean that a single vote margin in both houses could enact what you might call the radical right laws. There would be nothing that the Democrats could do to stop any legislation whatsoever if the left (they are all radical, minus Manchin) got their filibuster rule changed.  That is where the current filibuster comes into play as any new law would require several Democrats to agree with the majority Republicans and vice versa.  Do you want the potential for your radical right to have free rein as the radical left wants by killing the filibuster or is the radical left just as (if not more) dangerous? Let’s see if we have a history in this area? Oh yeah, the Democrats changed the rules in the Senate to allow federal judges to not have to overcome the filibuster. Obama was not getting his federal judge nominations passed and being angry, they changed the rules instead of nominating more moderate justices. They were warned that it would come back to bite them. They didn’t care and chose the nuclear option to change the rules. Oops! Any guess how Trump got all of his Supreme Court nominees passed against strong Democrat opposition? The Democrats got rid of the filibuster for federal judges after another tantrum   So when you are so worried about the radical right, are you equally concerned in what the radical left is always doing by changing rules and history which were put into place just for situations like we are in? So while Manchin gets it, what about his other 50 colleagues (49 + Harris)?  What concerns you more, Abbott and Paxton or the Democrats who want to make it to where if the Republicans do take over, they can go wild… at least in your mind?
