Guest baseball25 Posted July 24, 2009 Report Posted July 24, 2009 I agree with you in terms of talent. He is "hands down" the best out there right now. But in terms of actually conquering the UFC in reality? I think it must be done to cement his legacy and take away the naysayers that will say he never did it in the cages of the UFC. The UFC is the big dance of MMA. For all realistic purposes though Arlovski and Sylvia's best days were behind them by the time they met Fedor. And Big Nog took him to the brink all 3 times they went. No dominating wins there for Fedor over Big Nog. I'm certainly not taking anything away from the guy. I just think he will need to make the move to gain the notoriety needed to be considered the best ever. I am too a long time MMA fan. I think he needs the UFC. I think he is Top 5 all time without them and could be best ever with them Clearly we disagree. I agree that the UFC needs Fedor. But I believe Fedor needs the UFC also for his legacy. To make a football analogy: A CFL great cannot go down in the NFL HOF without ever playing a down in the league. UFC is the premiere MMA dance. He needs to dominate there before he retires. If he doesn't, sure their will be those that still rank him #1. But the doubts will linger....

But the doubts will linger.... the football analogy makes no sense... noone is saying fedor needs to go down in the ufc hof, but he can go down in the MMA hof without ever fighting in the ufc. though the biggest company in MMA the ufc did not invent the sport nor is it the end-all-be-all of the sport. the ufc is a company they are not a sport, MMA is the sport.

Guest baseball25 Posted July 24, 2009 Report Posted July 24, 2009 I still feel rodgers needs a few more fights against some top notch guys, but he's going to be good and I like him alot, Overeem is good but can get better and I also like him, Barnett is barnett u never know which one will show up. 6 of these guys are ranked in top 10 in world, only guys that might have a chance against FEDOR is LESNAR and COUTURE, the other guys anybody could beat anybody Carwin Shane- young and athletic and has heavy hands and big heart Cro Cop Mirko- he's all mental Gonzaga Gabrie- a very tough fighter that would gives alot of fighters fits.. lKongo Cheick- ground game sucks but very big and strong. Lesnar Brock-Best athlete in MMA and a freak of nature Mir Frank- when mind is right a top 10 fighter. Nogueira Antonio Rodrigo- when healthy is one of best in world and staph infection hurt him in mir fight Velasquez Cain- young and athletic has great work ethic, and a very good ground game and big and strong. Couture Randy- don't need to describe him we know what he can do Herring Heath- been there and done it and been up against some of the best in the world and u can never count him out.
Guest baseball25 Posted July 24, 2009 Report Posted July 24, 2009 I am a baseball guy, stats don't lie, i know how good fedor is, he's the best heavyweight in the world, could lesnar beat him well of course, will it be tough yeah, would i bet on that fight no, but is lesnar the only guy that could beat him prob so, could randy beat him prob not but you can't count him out of any fight, all i want his fedor do fight in the best MMA organization in the WORLD that has 6 heavyweight ranked in the top 10, we have seen how some of these pride guys struggle in the octagon so lets see what FEDOR can do..
