Bear lifters dominate in Anahuac

ANAHUAC — The Little Cypress-Mauriceville Powerlifting Team captured six gold medals Thusday at the Anahuac Powerlifting Meet.

The Lady Bears’ trio of Meghan Fontenot, Maygon Crosslin and Katye Harris all captured gold medals.

Fontenot easaily won the 123-pound division with 885 total pounds. She bench pressed 190 pounds, squatted 365 and dead-lifted 330.

Crosslin nabbed the 165-pound class with 780 pounds. She squatted 315 pounds, benched 170 and dead-lifted 295. Harris stormed to the 220-pound title, totaling 830 pounds as she squatted 340 pounds, benched 185 and dead-lifted 305 pounds.

The boys had three winners as well.

Tyler Wright won the 114-pound division with 650 pounds, squatting 250, benching 135 and dead-lifting 265.

Troy Davenport claimed the 165-pound division with 1,130 pounds, squatting 375 pounds, benching 375 and dead-lifting 380.

Frank Snoddy continued his dominance in the 242-pound class with 1,310 pounds. He squatted 550 pounds, benched 310 and dead-lifted 450.

Brandon Dockens was fifth in the 148-pound class (805 pounds). Spencer Udell was 10th in the 148-pound class (635 pounds). Ian Case placed fifth in the 165-pound division (800 pounds), and Traylon Vincent was second in the 181-pound class (995 pounds)
