Hypolite committs to SFA

West Orange-Stark quarterback Ortavious Hypolite verbally committed to play college football at Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches, he said Monday.

Hypolite visited SFA over the weekend. He chose the school after visits to U.S. Military Academy at West Point, New York, Lamar and Northwestern State in Natchitoches, La.

"I had built a pretty nice relationship with the defensive coordinator and when I went on my visit, I felt like it was a place I could be playing at next season,'' Hypolite said. "It helped me make my decision right there.''

At quarterback, Hypolite threw for 1,399 yards with 13 touchdowns and four interceptions. He also rushed for 705 yards and 14 touchdowns. He also played defensive back.
