West Brook HS senior Will Partain chosen for Juliet Tyner Memorial Scholarship

West Brook HS senior first baseman Will Partain has been awarded one of the four $1,500 scholarships for 2008 by the Juliet Tyner Memorial Scholarship Program. Each year two senior baseball and two senior softball players from southeast Texas are selected by the Juliet Tyner Memorial Scholarship Program to receive this scholarship to help pay for college.

In addition to excelling on the baseball field, Will is in the top 10% of his graduating class and will graduate with honors. He is a member of the National Honor Society

Next year, Will will attend the University of Texas at Dallas where he will study Business Administration. He will also continue playing baseball as a member of the UTD baseball team. UTD is a member of the American Southwest Conference. Shane Shewmake is the head coach.

Will is the son of Lynn and Bruce Partain.

I had the opportunity of meeting Will last fall, he is an extremely fine young man. He will do the Tyner foundation very well as a representative. His parents have the right to be very proud.
