Crosby at BH Girls game on Friday 1/25 will also serve as a fundraiser for Clements High School coach who passed away last month after a long bout with Leukemia.  There will be donations buckets set up at the game as they are doing at many games across Houston that night.  ....and it should be a good team as both teams are pushing toward the playoffs.

Below is a from a note I received and it gives more details on Coach Grafe.

After discussing some ideas with members of the GHAGBA and board members, we've decided to proclaim January 25, 2008 as Zach Grafe Memorial Game Day, in memory of our beloved colleague who lost his battle with Leukemia on December 29, 2007.  The idea is to have each home team "pass the hat" to collect money for Zach's fund.  The head coach of the home team should make an announce, prior to the game, informing the fans about Zach (see below) and explaining where the money will be sent.

Please inform that anyone wishing to make a check should make it payable to the Zach Grafe Fund.  Once you collect the money, please exchange the cash for one of your personal checks, and send the check to the address below.  DO NOT send cash via mail.  Or if you want to personally deliver the money, you can take it to Clements High School.  When sending your check via mail, please make sure that you include the attached form.

Please communicate with your opposing coach regarding our intent to collect funds for Zach.  Some coaches are not member of the GHAGBA and will not know about our intent.  Encourage these coaches to participate on this day, and to become members of the GHAGBA.  I also encourage you to wear "BLUE" in honor of Zach and Clements High School.  Please understand that you are under NO OBLIGATION to participate in the Zach Grafe Memorial Game; this is just to encourage our membership to help Zach's family through a rough time.  Zach's wife, Jill, is a private school teacher, not making much money, and Zach did not have life insurance.  Please let me know if you have a home game and are willing to participate.  Thanks for your time, cooperation, and for all of your efforts in helping our fallen colleague.
