The lake is 166.9 msl, and high pool is 172 msl. Both generators are running from 1 to 8pm. The north end of the lake is stained and clearing as you go south. The water temperature is running in the lower to mid 80s.

The lake is steadily falling. Fishing patterns remain the pretty much the same as my prior report except more fish are moving onto the drops and ledges along the river channel shelf and ledges.

Early morning and late evening work a top water plug, buzz bait, frog, trap, finesse plastic or shallow diving crank bait around pepper grass close to deep water. As the sun gets overhead and the bite slows down work soft plastics and deep diving crank baits on the creek and river ledges and main points falling into deep water.

The White bass are moving into their typical summer patterns with much more schooling activity showing up on the lake in boat lanes, timber lines and flats. Slab spoons and tail spinners working best on main lake sand bars from 10 to 24ft. Chrome traps and top water plugs working best when the bass are schooling.

Fishing Forecast

Summer has arrived. The water temperature is rising and the bass are moving into their typical summer patterns. We'll be throwing almost everything in our tackle box throughout the day. Main lake humps and ridges, river channel ledges and drops, shallow pepper grass flats, Lilly pads, main lake points, timber- lines and creek channels are areas the bass will congregate.

Early in the morning and late in the evening we’ll be throwing top water plugs, buzz baits, frogs (Horny Toad, Ribbit), spinner baits, and finesse baits over and in grass flats close to deep water. A trick worm, Fluke or Senko will also catch a lot of fish when the top water baits aren't as productive. When the sun gets over- head concentrate fishing deeper water along the points and bends in the creek and river channel ledges that has the most cover and structure (tops, lay-downs etc) with deep diving crank baits and Carolina or Texas rigged soft plastics. The bite normally slows down forcing us to fish much slower. However, be looking for schooling fish that have forced the baitfish to the top. Keep a top water bait and a shallow running crank bait like a rattletrap handy for the schooling bass. A lot of times you can catch bigger fish on the bottom under the schools throwing a soft plastic bait.

If you like to night fish, now is the time to catch some big fish. Concentrate on shorelines where deep-water runs close by, also try to find boat docks and piers that have planted brush and are lit up. An eleven-inch neon worm worked from the bank back into deep water can be very productive. Also top water baits that make a lot of noise and large dark colored spinner baits will trigger a strike.

The White bass will be holding along the old river channel sandbars. A slab spoon or tail spinner can be very productive. Watch for the Whites schooling along the river channel, boat roads, flats, main lake points and at the mouth of the coves. Traps and shallow diving crank baits work great. Also keep an eye open for the gulls feeding on bait fish. Usually the Whites have pushed the bait- fish to the surface and the gulls can be a good key to locating the Whites and Blacks.

The Crappie will be holding around brush tops in 15 to 25 foot of water. Concentrate at the mouth of the creeks close to the river channel. Use your electronics to locate the brush tops and bait fish and you should locate the Crappie.
