Some could have done better but most of the higher quality performers advanced to next weekend’s regional championships. It will matter much more to them on the first Saturday in May if they are able to advance again. Getting to regionals is more of an expected achievement for the top-caliber athlete. Getting to our Texas UIL state championships is more the equivalent of being a state champion in most states. Our list of regional qualifiers takes up an excessive amount of space. So we chose to display names and some photos of the young men and women who won gold medals at the area meets.
