Morgan from Jasper wrote, "Jasper already proved their dominance of BC."..Wow??

When I read that statement I was a little taken back!  I did not see anyone with dominance in 21-3A at the end of the year.  Neither Silsbee nor H-J beating Jasper;likewise, did not "prove their dominance".  That District race came down to the final line because of strong teams.

Sorry Morgan but you will have to prove your dominance once again--but this time that little re-vamping team of leftovers from a BC big graduation are a lot more battle tested having edged some excellent playoff teams.

Some towns have a good team every once in a while: while other towns like BC see a possible heavy graduation sinking their chances of climbing to the top of the heap only occasionally.  In this case BC has rebounded really well against all odds.

You will soon see a BC team that plays very fundamental baseball at this time of year.

I was surprised by Morgan's statements, too, and I'm as big a Bulldog fan as anyone here. I've known Coach Mixon since we were kids and love what he's doing in Jasper for the community and baseball program, but I'll promise you that he and all of those kids know that they have a battle like no other they've seen coming this week with the Cardinals. I wish I could be there to see it. :)

Jasper in district proved only one thing, the ball bounced right for them on two different nights.  No way was it dominance.  Now, last Friday, Jasper did dominate a team if you might call 18-1 domination.  Lesson number one, don't "protest" any calls against the Dogs about touching third base.  ;D ;)

Forget the records, just as Carthage should have.  The records, and past history will not be playing this week.  Two very good baseball teams will be playing and what happened in district is just history just as Carthage's undefeated season was and is history.  The only thing that should matter to either team is advancing to the state tournament.  Neither team should need any additional motivation.  :)

Hard to call BC a team that is rebuilding when they bring back the likes of Stringer and Dishon.  You bring back players like those two and fills holes around them and win games!

You are right some towns experience success here and there.  Neither Jasper or BC or one of those towns.  BC certainly has the recent edge on success, but Jasper is far from a flash in the pan program.

Paxton said Covey’s campaign identified “at least” 1,442 Democrats who voted early in Jefferson County in the primary runoff. However, only 5% of that group had voted in all four previous Democratic primaries. What Phelan’s opponents did not mention is historically Democratic Jefferson County is undergoing a political transition towards the Republican party — the county judge switched his affiliation to the GOP in 2017 — so many residents have a mixed primary voting history.
