Bridge City Sophmore team is playing a tournament in Hardin Jefferson starting today and anyone around that may know the scores, please post!  I am at work and couldn't make the game at 9a.m. :(  Thanks!

I feel your pain.  I hate when I have to miss my kids playing.

Yeah, it really stinks!  Can't get any work done for wondering how it's going or how my son is doing, lol!  Should've just taken vacation and gone since I am not getting much done here.  Hopefully someone will see this and update what's happening over there!

Sorry, I was at the field all day....

Game 1.  Bridge City vs. Jasper

Jasper was up early, but Bridge City came from behind and won 8-7

Game 2.  Kelly vs. Nederland

Kelly wins 4-3 in 7 innings.  Kelly put the ball in play really well.

Game 3  Kirbyville vs. Splendora

Kirbyville was up 11-4 going into the last inning.  Splendora scored 5 in the last at bat.  Kirbyville wins 11-9.

FRIDAYS GAMES

HARDIN-JEFFERSON vs SPLENDORA - 9:00

JASPER vs NEDERLAND - 11:00

HARDIN-JEFFERSON / SPLENDORA (WINNER) vs. KIRBY VILLE - 1:00

KELLY vs. BRIDGE CITY  - 4:00 pm

I would post live updates, but I can't get internet access at the field.

9am CONSOLATION GAME

Nederland vs splendora

11 am - THRID PLACE GAME

Bridge City vs Kirbyville

1 pm CHAMPIONSHIP GAME

Hardin-Jefferson vs Kelly

TODAY

HJ beat splendora 6-2

Nederland beat Jasper (can't remember exact score)

HJ beat Kirbyville 12-8

Kelly beat Bridge City 16-0

NEDERLAND SOPH wins consolation bracket over Splendora

BRIDGE CITY WINS 3rd place game OVER KIRBYVILLE JV

KELLY JV wins championship game over Hardin - Jefferson JV

Good tournament, thanks to all of the workers who made it a success!

      Funny how “MAGA” is considered a bad thing…. The MAGA crowd….etc…. Whoever doesn’t want to make America Great should leave.

      That's an interesting take, but considering that an incumbent enjoys a HUGE advantage historically, I think Covey came pretty close to an upset. I don't care one way or the other - the biggest reason being that I live in Hardin County. But I have to think the Trump endorsement got Covey that close in the first place. His only recognition was on a very local level, virtually unheard of before the Trump endorsement. Otherwise, he probably would've lost by thousands of votes instead of a few hundred. Just my observation.

      I think the interesting point is this… Trump backed candidates do better when Trump is on the ballot. Back in March Covey was up by 3%, and that skirt from Jasper pulled about 10%… and most people believed that her voters would go directly to Covey. Conventional wisdom was that Covey would be up by 10-12 points if all things went according to the pattern from March. That just didn’t happen. Typically turnout is lower in runoffs than in the primaries, and my guess is that Phelan had fewer votes this time around than last, but covey had WAY fewer votes. A friend of mine has been watching a similar runoff in central texas, and the results were similar. The MAGA guy just didn’t turn out the votes this May.    My opinion is that a large portion of the support these Trump guys are just that…. Trump supporters. They’ll vote down ticket according to MAGA directives when Trump is on the ballot, but when they can’t vote Trump, they just don’t show up at all.

      Then you should have known lots of people said the exact same thing when the alcoholic Democrat Ann Richards was elected way way back in the day. Texas has become redder and redder ever since. People, especially blacks, are waking up and realizing the Marxist Democrats are destroying them. Feel free to hold your breath waiting on your dream to happen though. That would be fun to watch, LOL.
