No way the numbers go up with enrollment going down. Not happening

Agreed! From what I've seen and read from multiple forums, I think the cutoff is going to fall somewhere around 525-530

I sure hope it's 525.

That will be fun.

Unfortunately, I don't think my team is going to benefit from realignment at all lol

How so..?

Will be several schools locally who will be 4A DII. Curious to see if BC, HJ and Liberty opt up again while Tarkington will stay 4A DII and Orangefield will move up to 4A DII from 3A DI.

It would give you these schools with 4A DII enrollments:

Bridge City

Hardin-Jefferson

Liberty

Silsbee

Hamshire-Fannett

WO-S

Shepherd

Jasper

Tarkington

Orangefield

10 teams

Oof! That's tough! Do you think they'll play 10 teams or split some out?

If this does happen I see Tarkington, Shepherd and possibly Jasper going to another district.

But a 10 team district (9 district games) would be fun.

I've seen that too, possibly North?

It would definitely be fun, not for us but would be interesting.

That would be a lot of fun.. 9 district games… but  I don’t for see UIL doing that/ a school or 2 may move up dropping it back down. I wish a certain school on that list did move up tho… would make things interesting

I could definitely see BC opt up again. Idk about HJ or Liberty, might benefit them to stay in D2.

I often wonder if there where will ever be a situation in the near future that 4A D2 has at least one open district.

Also, HISD could really assist (first time those words have likely ever been said on here) 4A D2 from a numbers standpoint by not opting up all the schools that could be D2.  I have not checked the numbers from this snap shot on them, but the D1 4A district they have at present has 9 schools of which I think 6 had D2 enrollment numbers last alignment.

If I am accurate, region 3 has at least 9 teams in D1 that had 4A D2 enrollments.

My post is likely useless as HISD will want to keep as many schools together as possible and not have 2 or 3 at the D1 level thus not having an all HISD district.

Not sure how similar the D1 districts are to this scenario that house the other large city schools like Dallas, Ft. Worth, and El Paso.

Thats a huge gap in numbers from what would be smallest OF? To the biggest school?

If the bottom number for 4A DII is 525, I imagine the top number would be around 885-895

I predict OF wont have a jv team if this happens lol

Feel like that's something Tarkington needs to look at too. Our JV is usually decent.

Honestly, the only way I see HISD keeping their 4AD2 enrollment teams in D2 is if Austin and Sterling drop down to 4A.
