Your district 9 prediction is interesting but you could be right

In District 9 I have Coldspring, Diboll, and Woodville as the favorites that can either be 1,2, or 3.  Shepherd, Westwood and Crockett will battle for the 4th spot.

In District 10 I would definitely keep Anahuac as district champs but I would switch Orangefield and East Chambers.  Tarkington may surprise this year as I have them and Buna battle for 4th.

Westwood will have the single best athlete in the district (likely the region/Terry Bussey type) for the next 4 years. That is why I have them 2nd. Not bad logic though on either district.

Not one player can make a team... That being said I agree with you  for most of your statement.

Wait, what? Another freshmen going to start on a 3A team & contribute? This is unheard of in 3A🙃

Always amazed at those who are unable to process what has been said when it is written in plain text. No one has said anything about "unheard of". It is a "rare" and it is also "impressive" when it happens. The previous debate was to those trying to diminish the Anahuac Fr QB.

Westwood will have one that will be in the 4-5 star range next year.

Especially as a freshman. Westwood returns the same core group of guys they've had the last 2 or 3 years though. They should be pretty good this year.

Westwood does have a good group coming through and will likely have the most athletes along with Coldspring. However, they (like Anahuac last year) will have a Freshman QB.

Even though this particular FR QB is going to end up as 4-5 start recruit (also in basketball), he is still a FR and it will be a tall order to start at QB which is why I dont think they will win the district.

I doubt Coldspring or Westwood has more athletes than Woodville seriously man.

Just messing with you, it also is not rare for freshmen to play, start & contribute in 3A football.

District 10 has 7 teams with a total of 154 starting positions. I wonder how many of the 154 positions were occupied by freshman? Maybe someone can pull the numbers.

    • Yeah I remember the pictures of the water piled up on the north side of the highway, it was bad.
    • That’s a president? How embarrassing.
    • Really good hire! As I stated previously on this thread, Mike T has been an essential part of WB’s success the last few years & is a student of the game & I have a ton of respect for how he goes about things as a coach. Big on teaching kids how to do things the right way to prepare them for not only basketball but the game of life. He’ll be fine there, my only question is what kind of talent does WB have returning?  Best thing about this situation for Mike T is WB will be 5A for at least the next 2 years, so he should win a lot of games & have some deep playoff runs.
    • So which coaches kid gets the QB job? Trotter or Barrier
    • A Winnie land owner (and others) sued the State of Texas after they built IH-10 a few feet higher in order to help contain storm flooding. Sure enough a hurricane hit and flooded the land. The storm improvements worked!! Unfortunately the state sacrificed several people’s properties in using the interstate highway as a dam.  Richard DeVillier tried to sue Texas under our laws and Constitution and the US Constitution under the Fifth Amendment “taking clause” (eminent domain). After a favorable ruling in the federal district court on the right to sue Texas directly, the Fifth Circuit Court in New Orleans overturned that ruling and said that the DeVlier had no authority to sue Texas directly.  On Tuesday a unanimous US Supreme Court ruled that DeVillier and others had the right to sue Texas directly under Texas law and under the Fifth Amendment of the US Constitution. The case is now sent back down to the lower court. DeVillier and others have not won their lawsuits as the case has not been decided on its merits at a trial. He still has to go to prove his case. What they did win was a unanimous Supreme Court agreeing that he has the right to bring Texas to trial for taking his property with just compensation.
