I am still wondering where all this talent is that Nederland fans have been raving about

1-4 and looking very much like a JV team, being blown out in the 4 losses

I would love for someone to let us know where all this talent is!

In fact someone said that I was ignorant on talent. Seems that he must have mistaken me for himself!

It’s there,  they are young and haven’t learned how to play at the varsity level yet.  Some of that is on them some on the coaches.  Hopefully they can make that next step sometime this season or in the offseason and next year.

I wouldn’t say he’s weak.  Early development stage is more accurate.  He’s got to protect the ball.
I was at the game as well.  Well till halftime.  Going for it on fourth and short on our side of the field, is kinda of a chance Monty has to take.  Not wrong or right.  With this team he’s desperately trying to find the right buttons.

Nederland had 4th and 3 or 4 to go on their own 32 yard line and went for it.  Didn't make it.  Dayton took it in for another score.

OK, opinion time:   Was this a bonehead coaching decision or a brilliant coaching decision?

The WR dropped an easy TD on that play, so I’d say the play call was correct.. players have to make the plays that are available.

I think Dayton has a legitimate shot at winning the district. Their O-line is huge.  They have a legit  QB. They have a legit RB. They have a couple of good WR.  Their defense is tenacious.

They seem to get a little better each week but with that being said the tough part of the schedule is coming up so we'll see how good they really are. Hopefully everyone stays healthy.

Dayton will not beat Marshall, PNG, and TC. However playoffs with 4-3 district

Nederland anywhere from 5th at 3-7 to dead last 1-9

2 miserable years in a row. Starting to show how losing creates losing

coaching and talent level are bad. Could result in several bad years at Bulldog land

SHHH....  You will be crucified if you speak ill of our little nepotistic paradise.

I appreciate your reply.  But, the play wasn't the question.  The question was was it the right "decision" to go for it on 4th down on your on 32?  I'll repeat:  "OK, opinion time:   Was this a bonehead coaching decision or a brilliant coaching decision?"

You have an opinion on the "decision?"

Coach Ware said give him 3 years and he was gonna turn the program around.  He did just what he said!!

Dayton has a solid team this year. Good offense, good defense, good special teams & executed well. Respect to Coach Ware & his staff. Nederland did not show up at all for this game, looked like they were more focused on the homecoming festivities.

I will wager that Dayton beats either TC or PNG.

Daytons QB makes our offense click !

Nederland players look deflated, timid. Unsure of even where to line up. No enthusiasm. I haven’t believed they were so far gone as a lot of posters are saying, since I haven’t seen them play this year and I couldn’t believe Nederland has this kind of problem. But they look like they don’t even want to be on the field.

With the athletes Dayton has I personally think Dayton has a good chance of beating both of them (barring injuries) if the defense continues to improve.

Well we shall see next week, seems like Dayton is rolling under their  new coaching staff. But playing the bottom feeders will inflate the ego. But I have seen stranger things happen. We have alot of injuries right now beat up pretty good but battle tested and ready to go. Hopefully after we beat Willoridge we will have no injuries and our players coming back healthy, if not the backups will just have to continue what they started and play hard nosed football. I am eager to see Dayton come next week. Hope the weather continues to stay perfect.

I can't see where anybody from Dayton has an inflated ego ? Might be a little excited about winning and think we can hang with PNG if anything you might have an inflated ego with the way your always slighting Dayton after they win a game. Like I said be patient when the Broncos roll into town you might be surprised.  Good luck and we hope to play a healthy PNG.

True.   I know it looked like Dayton was playing against a JR High coach.   But, regardless -- I could tell that Dayton was well coached.

BTW -- did anyone notice when the Nederland player got hurt, the Dayton cheerleaders and all the players took a knee?!  I looked at Nederland and they did nothing!  Could show Dayton!

Short memories on this board forget, it wasn't too long ago that Dayton dominated those golden triangle teams year in and year out. Dayton isn't the new kid on the block, they're the kid that has been down on his luck recently. The culture and expectation is there, now the play and coaching is starting to match what the community requires. Watch them become a power again....it's starting as we speak.

Let me know when you decide to start going to NISD school board meetings to express the issue that Nederland varsity football is being coached by a junior high level head coach, I would like to witness who & how many don't respect his varsity head coaching abilities. If the Anti Monte Barrow people do not come together, get out in public to spread this mess. to the community there will never be pressure on ole Kieschnick or the school board to make a change you think is needed to better Nederland football.

Did you not see the game against Dayton?

Spread this mess?  Are we not seeing the same performance?

And yes, when it's time, I'll be making my opinions known to the school board.  Time is getting nigh!

But, one must remember -- Kiesknick is a home grown individual like the HC is.  Plus even the principal (Neumann's daughter?!) is home grown.  So not sure if they would ever pull the plug.  But, like you said, if there's enough pressure, well, then, maybe some action will be taken.  Again, all of this is my opinion!

    • Yeah I remember the pictures of the water piled up on the north side of the highway, it was bad.
    • That’s a president? How embarrassing.
    • Really good hire! As I stated previously on this thread, Mike T has been an essential part of WB’s success the last few years & is a student of the game & I have a ton of respect for how he goes about things as a coach. Big on teaching kids how to do things the right way to prepare them for not only basketball but the game of life. He’ll be fine there, my only question is what kind of talent does WB have returning?  Best thing about this situation for Mike T is WB will be 5A for at least the next 2 years, so he should win a lot of games & have some deep playoff runs.
    • So which coaches kid gets the QB job? Trotter or Barrier
    • A Winnie land owner (and others) sued the State of Texas after they built IH-10 a few feet higher in order to help contain storm flooding. Sure enough a hurricane hit and flooded the land. The storm improvements worked!! Unfortunately the state sacrificed several people’s properties in using the interstate highway as a dam.  Richard DeVillier tried to sue Texas under our laws and Constitution and the US Constitution under the Fifth Amendment “taking clause” (eminent domain). After a favorable ruling in the federal district court on the right to sue Texas directly, the Fifth Circuit Court in New Orleans overturned that ruling and said that the DeVlier had no authority to sue Texas directly.  On Tuesday a unanimous US Supreme Court ruled that DeVillier and others had the right to sue Texas directly under Texas law and under the Fifth Amendment of the US Constitution. The case is now sent back down to the lower court. DeVillier and others have not won their lawsuits as the case has not been decided on its merits at a trial. He still has to go to prove his case. What they did win was a unanimous Supreme Court agreeing that he has the right to bring Texas to trial for taking his property with just compensation.
