What's wrong with Vidor and Nederland?

Not sure your judgement on football players talent is very good if you say there are not any good young players starting for Ned. Since you been against them before the season even started. I think you have a personal issue & will down play these young players no matter what they do

I'm glad you said it...and couldn't agree more. Been biting my tongue. Sounds like someone with an axe to grind.

No grudge, just watching the games and observing how it is played. You folks certainly may be right about potential, however potential means nothing if you do nothing with it

When you get blown out 2 weeks in a row, the potential hasn’t done much possibly some improvement but not much

and don’t start with how tough non district schedule is your either good or your not and as of today Nederland is not. I wish they were but they are not

some of you folks are happy if they win and happy if they lose

football is all about competing against your opponent and as of today the Bulldogs are not competing

i think the dogs will be fighting for a playoff spot. i been saying this since the PAM game. Nederland is basically running a JV squad in the varsity role. to have a team made up of majority sophomores that was asked to step up cause others quit speaks volumes. everyone on this site knows my dislike for MC county teams, but when you go into half time tied with with a ranked team in their stadium, u get points and love from me on that. with that many pics thrown score should have been MUCH worse so that tells me those kids played with heart. they held PAM to two offensive TD's the second half!! scored more points than PNG and held PAM under 50. what bullpup people and others need to see is some schools can't simply reload EVERY year. hell next year PAM qb situation hopefully will continue because of a freshman qb right now.

nobody even made reference to png smh

The person I quoted and responded to said the following : “Basically have 3 possible chances for wins this season. Willow Ridge, GP, SF”

So if Nederland is predicted (by that person) as only being able to beat Willow Ridge, GP, and SF, the implication is that they will lose to PNG.

Also, if you’re talking about Nederland, you’re talking about PNG. It’s in the Bible, probably.

I would love for the Dogs to go 16-0, however it is going to happen this year

you again may be correct about potential

Evidently my expectations are much higher than yours because when 4 teams from each district go to the playoffs each year, Nederland should go every year in my opinion

I again do not believe they are competitive AS OF TODAY because they have been BLOWN OUT in both games thus far and if they don’t start competing they will go 0-10

Super glad you are a faithful Bulldog supporter, but again in my opinion you have to be realistic about the way they are playing.

And right now they are not playing good football NOT EVEN CLOSE

I bet you would have said something similar for PN-G after Memorial beat them by 5TDs...I'm sticking with my prediction that Nederland will win more than 1 game this year

I am positive every P.A.  player & coach will disagree with you on Ned, not competing. If your philosophy is teams\players don't do nothing with their potential & are only good if they win every game then you live in a make believe disney land. I would be interested to learn more about your philosophy at the Silsbee game & I can point out the players who are actually good with high upside of becoming very good the more game reps they get. I'll be on the top row with the ole father in law whose been critisizing Nederland coaches since 1960😎 We are a peaceful bunch, but i tend to cuss at football games

If he's been criticizing the likes of Bowden Cook and Bobby August my hats off to him

I hope you are right and they do win more than 1 game. They may be able to play with Willowridge, Galena Park, and Santa Fe and possibly could keep it close vs Dayton

They will not beat FB Marshall, Texas Coty, or PNG this year

I look for anywhere from 0-10 to 3-7. It depends on how well they play against Silsbee. If they are blown out again, they will finish somewhere between 0-10 and 2-8

Two games into the season & many of us have given up on Ned & Vidor.  Nederland, just on tradition alone, will surprise some with their season record.  Vidor, just based on last year & an undefeated JV from last year, will almost assuredly start playing better.

As a fan, I’m concerned about the starts, but I’ve got to believe these two will end up respectable at season end.  For all the Pirate & Bulldog fans, I hope I’m right.  Go Black & Gold!

My thoughts on the Bulldogs is not because they are 0-2, but because they have been BLOWN out both games. I don’t know whether it is due to a lack of talent, coaching, effort,or inexperience. It is probably a combination of all of these

As of today, I see extreme weakness in these areas - QB, OL, and secondary

Unless these position areas get better fast, the Bulldogs don’t have much chance of winning this season

For those who disagree, I suggest that you go back and look at film of those 2 games and evaluate those 3 areas. If you do I think you will realize why I say this!

Come on man, why are you hoping for positives now? After 2 blowout loses you have seen & the negative statements Nederland has no talent, no potential, is scared to tackle etc. why be a hypocrite with these fake I would love the bulldogs to win posts. I'm starting to think you are close to a disgruntled player, were not included in Barrows crew in high school or you had a bad love or jealousy situation with a family member of a certain player

Just a reminder, anyone who feels the need to criticize individual players will receive warnings, and depending your your history with the site, possibly a ban.  We have many players and family members of players who get on this site, and nobody should have to see some grown man hiding behind a screen name criticizing their son.  Thanks in advance for your cooperation!

Vidor is fresh off a district championship and two games into the season and some are ready to run the coach out of town.

Just last season Vidor put up 51 points on Silsbee.  What has happened is they probably lost some valuable senior leadership, and thus the team is down.  It happens all the time.

Thank you KF89

you are correct WOS and PAM are good teams

The reason they got blown out those 2 games was because they had much more talent, which had been my point this season

FB Marshall and Texas City will be equal to WOS and PAM. Dayton is improving, and PNG will a tough game, so if Silsbee beats them, the season record will not be very good

We will see at the end of the season whether you were correct on their talent this season or I was correct

Have a great day

I believe that Vidor will be fine once district starts. They have some holes to fill and things to figure out but they are getting there, it's not where you start is where you finish. I think that the 2 teams they have faced thus far are better then the teams we had played at this point last year. These games mean nothing, until district.

My point from the start is Nederland has good players seniors, juniors & majority sophs & will get better each week & be prepared for the district games which is the real goal. I'm not debating if they are a good or bad team at this time after  2 games vs. top 10 state ranked teams. In my clueless football opinion playing those 2 strong teams early made them better. If your evaluation of a rebuild year with a young Nederland team is they have no talent with no chance of competing in district  then you have no memory of the past 28 years of Ned program success, no clue about playing, coaching or evaluating football.

Main reason these youngsters were blown out is WOS & P.A. are just damn good & won't lose many games this year.

Already listed some players that had the skills & ability to improve each game, there are several on both sides of the ball that will improve each day & play the type of football you consider tremendous.

O-Line is fine & young guys will improve each game they work together, #76 Bieber is one of the best in the area & getting some college offers, if you had a clue.

QB 1 has not played well the 1st 2 games, in fact he was P.A.'s best player with the 8 turnovers. He has the size & arm strength   but no threat of running in Ned offense is a weakness. I am sure coaches will work on getting QB spot better by district opener. IK you have a dislike for #12's play, but the kid plays QB well his whole life, is legit athlete in several sports & can play multiple positions something you know nothing about.

Last but not least , I am not from Ned or a life long supporter. I learned my clueless football in North Houston, even learned a little football, basketball & baseball at West Brook, Bmt. Central & Vidor.  I support my family members that played & play for Nederland sports & also the ones in other extracu. activities. I also applaud you for your for 0-10 team, every player sucks doomsday posts.

I watched some film of the previous two games and some he played in Sugarland.   When his footwork is good he's accurate and has good arm strength.  When its not  (which is mostly when rolling out or scrambling ) we have games like last week.  If Barrow and the QB coach can get him consistent with his footwork and teach him to not be so quick to leave the pocket the kid has the tools to be a pretty dang good QB.  As far as a run threat I think we found one against PA.  Still a lot of work to be done but I think they will improve and might surprise some people later in the year.

I think what KF meant there is the last several years we have had a mobile qb, guys who could run and throw, this year isn't it. If the intent is to keep Trosclair at QB then the offense needs to be tailored to his strengths...any plays the require bootlegs or scrambles need to be taken out...Hubert Thomas is a good RB no issues there

So we need to take a page out of Pittsburg Steelers playbook and use that as our offense? Lol

Sophomore tailback runs for 173 yards against a highly ranked opponent.....Seems like the Oline cant be as weak as some think.
