I have no interest in asking.  Just referencing from earlier in the year when you said the UIL was changing the way PAPFs are documented “Goose”.

I played with Roger in college for a few years, and I'll just say this. If he brings the same intensity to REL that he brought every day in college, they are in fine hands. Rooting for success for REL and Coach Sutterfield!!

GCM would be my answer.  0-10 last year.  They share a District with North Shore, Atascocita, Summer Creek, C.E. King, Humble, Kingwood, and then Channelview on the bottom with them.  The only team in their District they had any chance of beating last season was the Channelview game and of course they lost to them too but other than that CV game all their District games were extreme beat downs from some of the best in the state, at least 2 of which were nationally ranked and surely will be again this year.  Now, THAT’S a tough schedule.

I wouldn’t say REL is “on the rise” per se.  I’d say that it’s more like they’ve consistently beaten low expectations due to superior coaching and superior development of the kids they have walking their halls.  Take a look at their last few seasons compared to the other 2 High Schools in GCCISD, both of which have far more resources and more District support.
You’re right about Coach Sutterfield.  Played for Coach Stewart at Dayton High, for ETBU and SFA in college, came back to Dayton to coach under Stewart before coming to REL under Finn.  He looks like a solid dude and is Finn’s handpicked replacement.  We’ll see if he can keep it going.  I hope he can, I’d hate to see REL go the way GCM/RSS have.

What Finn did at Lee was top shelf stuff relative to what he had to work with. Not just anyone is going to be able to come in and keep things afloat like he did. I'm expecting the worst.

Didn't Sutterfield work for years under Jerry Stewart?  If so, I am quite certain he knows how to put together a solid program.  From the sound of it, he inherited a program that was on the rise, no?

Their problems are bigger than that.  PISD enjoyed spending other folks money so much that before they knew it they’d gone ahead and built one too many high schools, and a “Memorial” High School at that!  Reminds me of another little refinery town ISD I know that had too much fun spending other folks money…

New HFC for Baytown Sterling is former REL DC Spencer Anthony.

So now GCM’s HFC is a former REL OC and RSS’ HFC is a former REL DC. You think eventually GCCISD would just consolidate the programs since the coaching staffs are all-REL anyway.

Incredible logic: you can "injure kids and as long as the injuries eventually heal", everything is fine.

No I saw his record and he brought a bad team to a 5/2 district record and to the playoffs. Maybe Woodville found out he knew the bear crawl.

So Woodville hires the Elgin  head Coach who comes from a 5A2 school to a 3A2 school. Not saying that is bad but seems a little odd. Looks like a good hire. Welcome Heath Clawson.

    Texas 22.041(c)
    (c) A person commits an offense if the person intentionally, knowingly, recklessly, or with criminal negligence, by act or omission, engages in conduct that places a child, elderly individual, or disabled individual in imminent danger of death, bodily injury, or physical or mental impairment.

    Texas Penal Code 6.03(d)
A person acts with criminal negligence, or is criminally negligent, with respect to circumstances surrounding his conduct or the result of his conduct when he ought to be aware of a substantial and unjustifiable risk that the circumstances exist or the result will occur. The risk must be of such a nature and degree that the failure to perceive it constitutes a gross deviation from the standard of care that an ordinary person would exercise under all the circumstances as viewed from the actor's standpoint.

They were 6th graders in the last week of school so average age of 12.  They were also in the “Preathletics” program rather than a regular PE class so they all intend to participate in athletics in 7th grade and I’m assuming a lot of them for 🏈 which would explain why the kids would push themselves that hard.  This guy is a former local HS football stud and one of their football coaches and with summer Strength&Conditioning coming up and then 7th grade ball once school starts I’m sure these kids were telling themselves they had to do it to stay on Coach’s good side for playing time, roster spots, etc.
