Unless maxpreps is missing some games? If that’s all it takes they should be going to state about 8 out of 10 years if he’s a good coach and attracting local talent. Their next game is against a district opponent whose incomplete maxpreps record is 7-11. I don’t know how all of the private stuff works, but I seem to remember maybe they’re soccer team winning a state championship and only having to win 3 or 4 games.

Baseball stadium was originally upgraded in 1983 (40 years) when Beaumont Golden Gators came to time. Only a few minor improvements from time to time since then. As for NCAA tournament even if SLC had a legitimate top 25 team that lost the conference tournament you would be biting your fingernails hoping you get a bid. The committee is biased to the larger richer conferences and just isn't going to give a bid to the lower conferences because of politics. That is why I like to view the independent RPIs put out by different services in all the different sports. They give you a better idea where you stand. Actually, this year Southland keeps moving up on some of those to like 14. The cluster of power is in the mega conferences. All the teams in SLC are pretty much equals this year as even the conference standing indicate this. You could put all the schools in a hat and pull out a name to try to pick the tournament winner. If Lamar's bats woke up in the last week or two they could easily win the tournament but you have to get there to win.

LU has 12th best ERA in the country with the 219th lowest runs scored total and 233rd in runs per game. I differ with you on the pitching being the issue. I will give you that there have been blown saves. However let's look at 7 of the conference losses. 5 games the offense has produced 2, 2, 1, 3, and 3 runs in those games the runs against was 5, 4, 5, 4, 4. The other 2 games in the 7 discussing were extra inning affairs in which the offense provided 0 runs over 13 extra innings of play. While the season has been disappointing and could be labeled even worse... if we point fingers here...the pitching is not the biggest issue. Again, blown saves have hurt, but college offenses put up runs these days.

There are two types of crosswalks, marked (A) and unmarked (B). Unmarked crosswalks are extended lines from sidewalks. So if a sidewalk ends at the street AND then continues on the opposite side of the street, that is an unmarked crosswalk. Or as it is described in the Transportation Code: (2) "Crosswalk" means: (A) the portion of a roadway, including an intersection, designated as a pedestrian crossing by surface markings, including lines; or (B) the portion of a roadway at an intersection that is within the connections of the lateral lines of the sidewalks on opposite sides of the highway measured from the curbs or, in the absence of curbs, from the edges of the traversable roadway. So if a driver is coming upon an intersection with a stop sign AND there are sidewalks on both sides of the road, that is the same as a painted crosswalk and the law requires a person to stop before the sidewalk. If a driver is at an intersection and has, for example, a left turn green arrow, the driver can lawfully turn left. The driver however has to yield right of way to any pedestrian in a crosswalk or any oncoming traffic from the opposite direction. The green turning arrow allows a person to lawfully turn but that person must give way to any vehicle or pedestrian.

It shouldn't be easy to become a citizen, but the process shouldn't be so long and difficult that it's just easier to break the law and come in illegally. I would love to see a revamped system that does a few things: 1. make the pathway to citizenship more attainable for migrants 2. make it a requirement for all money made while here on a temporary status to be taxed, and at a higher level than it is for citizens. any effort to circumvent this process means immediate deportation with no future opportunity at citizenship. 3. any crime worse than traffic offenses results in immediate and permanent deportation, with no future opportunity at citizenship. 4. Any immigrant willing to serve a 4-year stint in a branch of our military gains immediate citizenship upon completion. 5. Immigrants and their families, regardless of status, should not be eligible for handouts such as WIC, medicaid, food stamps, etc. If a family can't survive without these, they are not benefiting our country, and should be deported without future opportunity at citizenship. 6. Any child born here to illegal parents should not be given immediate citizenship, and should be treated as a citizen of the country of their parents' birth.
