i think the dogs will be fighting for a playoff spot. i been saying this since the PAM game. Nederland is basically running a JV squad in the varsity role. to have a team made up of majority sophomores that was asked to step up cause others quit speaks volumes. everyone on this site knows my dislike for MC county teams, but when you go into half time tied with with a ranked team in their stadium, u get points and love from me on that. with that many pics thrown score should have been MUCH worse so that tells me those kids played with heart. they held PAM to two offensive TD's the second half!! scored more points than PNG and held PAM under 50. what bullpup people and others need to see is some schools can't simply reload EVERY year. hell next year PAM qb situation hopefully will continue because of a freshman qb right now.

Not sure your judgement on football players talent is very good if you say there are not any good young players starting for Ned. Since you been against them before the season even started. I think you have a personal issue & will down play these young players no matter what they do?

Work being done down there has been scarce for a long time. Then last 3 weeks, workers all over until late at night, weekends, holidays (I’m sure NISD paying double time for that). Still way behind. After game moved today, the workers...well they gone! whoever is putting the apartment complexes all over the area needs to be in charge, those things are being completed in no time 😂

Phase 2 of upgrades. Phase 1 was the turf (2 years ago), phase 2 is replacing the restrooms, ticket booth and upgrading the stands for ADA compliance. Phase 3 will be a new pressbox but that will be next year. Hopefully they don't start in June.

Just last season Vidor put up 51 points on Silsbee. What has happened is they probably lost some valuable senior leadership, and thus the team is down. It happens all the time.

I will say there have been more workers at the stadium working over that last month than have been there the last year combined. Not sure why they didn’t start working like that a little sooner.

Let’s see how the “coaching” at Nederland adjusts to their personnel, young inexperienced group. Its a bold strategy to not have a practice on Monday, and they only walk through on day before. The middle schools practiced Monday, just not the big boys that seem to want to and need some reps. At Nederland, silsbee wins by double digits. At Lamar, Silsbee also by double digits.

The person I quoted and responded to said the following : “Basically have 3 possible chances for wins this season. Willow Ridge, GP, SF” So if Nederland is predicted (by that person) as only being able to beat Willow Ridge, GP, and SF, the implication is that they will lose to PNG. Also, if you’re talking about Nederland, you’re talking about PNG. It’s in the Bible, probably.

I sure hope the staff reads this and gets their act together. If only more fans with their vast wealth of knowledge could tell coaches what scheme to utilize....all would be right in this world. Quite sure the kids really appreciate the input as well.

I watched some film of the previous two games and some he played in Sugarland. When his footwork is good he's accurate and has good arm strength. When its not (which is mostly when rolling out or scrambling ) we have games like last week. If Barrow and the QB coach can get him consistent with his footwork and teach him to not be so quick to leave the pocket the kid has the tools to be a pretty dang good QB. As far as a run threat I think we found one against PA. Still a lot of work to be done but I think they will improve and might surprise some people later in the year.

I haven’t seen them play since last year. But I believe it’s Senior loaded in key positions this year. They are well coached, and don’t make many mistakes. I would expect something just under Newton’s performance. I believe their ranking is legit if they’ve improved this year over last year. Should be a good game. GL

To the Children of Newton and Jasper don’t let these grownups put hatred and immaturity into y’all’s hearts. It’s about Football and about pride but mostly for the love of the game. There is a reason that you have to be at least 16 years old to get a drivers license and then only if you took driver’s ed. Everybody knows that but for some reason when it’s a cute vehicle like an ATV or a golf cart, all of a sudden the 12-year-old knows as much as a 30-year-old.

I work with about 10 parents who have children in various BH athletic programs. The source of the information from my post is sitting in the stadium with my sons and watching BH play Montgomery.

Back to Silsbee vs. Nederland

As a Newton fan, but a realest, I think Jasper will take this game. With that being said, Newton will get better from this game and so will Jasper. Newton needs to step up on their offence and become more balanced in today's game. They do not have D-1 athletes all over the field anymore and can't just run the ball over and over and then pass deep down the field on long 3rd and 4th downs. I'd personally like to see short passes mixed up on early downs to keep defenses spread out a little more, which opens up our run game. I mean, you can pound it every play, but it only works against the low level teams. I think Newton will do just fine in 3A-D2 this season. I think Newton can play with any team in 3A-D2 and will have a great year, but will come up short against the bigger school this year. Good luck to both teams this week.

I wish I was exaggerating because I think BU has a lot of potential and some of those kids just need some wins in life in general but they're tough to watch right now. I used the HISD example because I watched Madison play and while they're not great they actually look like a varsity football team. BISD needs to really give the new coach some time to change the culture, as in two or three years with no expectations of positive results as long as they're showing improvement. Watching them play it's a lot more of a rebuilding job than I thought. That's why I'm really not sure how much PNG can take from that game?

Never said Nederland wasn't bad team so far this year, I am saying they have a solid group of young, good players mixed with some good seniors like the Bieber & Caywood players with potential to get better each game it was 21-21 at half vs. P.A. that's a sign of getting better from the WOS game? Heck score could have been 80 to 21 with the 8 turnovers, that in itself is a positive the players never quit playing hard. But there was many other positives & learning from the P.A. game to make Ned a better team for district. WOS & P.A. will make majority of golden triangle teams look like they don't have much talent like you say. This has nothing to do with being a bulldog backer, trust me anyone would tell you, if there was no talent to work with at all it would be stated by me.

Several on Offensive & Defense I have noticed have potential to be very good Defense- #69, #25,#6,#14, #15, Offense- #13, #19, #12, #3
