    2022 Season

I want the UIL to decide the best for everyone, and the chips fall where they may. With that said, I hope Crosby stays in D-1 with BH. I think BH-Crosby-PAM would have some great games, but I am happy with whatever happens. Just ready to start the next season already!

  2. I disagree. Several local schools have the potential to make a deep run to state in the next few years. If the right talent comes along and no injury bugs. Vidor and LCM could have potentially went even farther without injuries. We all know a turnover or two can make a difference as well at that level.

  5. Warmup game usually means they just giving you a game because most people want at least 4-5 games in a tournament.. So they giving them a game.

  7. Not to take anything away from him, but I think his Dad was the coach at China Springs before him. He had natural coaching connections and opportunities that many do not have. I wish him all the best.

Anxious to see how the whole District reloads. I’d like to see a sweep in the first round.

  10. I agree. Vidor first year they were in 4th place and this past year if Lumberton beats them they are in 4th place. LCM had a extra 4 weeks of practice with the jv and varsity players.

    Hagar’s Ramblings

These stories go from humor above to stupidity here. Most of us have one of those moments. The ones where you know better but the little horned demon on your shoulders, fueled by alcohol, talks you into it. I was in the Army stationed at Ft. Carson. It was a fall evening and me & one of my buddies (Zeke Zaralka, big pollack from Illinois) had made the short drive in my car into Colorado Springs to kill (drown) as many brain cells as possible. After slaughtering more than either one of us could afford to lose, we decided to head back to base - and why not take a pint of Jack back with us. Sure it was against the rules, but our little demons assured us it would be okay, after all the MP’s had never stopped us before. As I approached the gate the MP jumped in the middle of the road with his hand up. Immediately both our rear ends started taking bites out of the front seat. Just in case they happened to glance in the car, Zeke had stuffed the pint down the front of his pants. Not only did they stop us, but the first thing they said was, “Get out of the car”. My mind is thinking, Oh 💩💩💩, and my sphincter factor was a 12 on the 1-10 tight scale. Zeke played on our unit football team, and as he came out of my car, all 6’5”, 250#’s, he suddenly bent over & grabbed his crotch. I immediately knew what happened (yes, the bottle had started falling). In a moment of clarity, brought on by fear, I ran around the front and steadied Zeke while asking him if he was okay. The MP’s wanted to know what’s going on. Zeke was scared 💩less & speechless and said nothing. He later told me he figured I had a plan. I told them he’d got injured in the groin during a recent game & was suppose to be resting but stupid me had taken him out. I started helping him back in the car. Now the MP’s are concerned. They don’t want to get into trouble so they want to call a base ambulance. I assured them the Dr said this might happen & all he needed was getting back in the barracks and some rest. I got Zeke in the car. The MP’s still want to get help, but I’d ran around & jumped in starting the car, so they let us go. We were too scared to laugh until much later. Not my finest moment, and I had no idea what the penalty was for sneaking hard booze on the base - The Rack? Firing squad? Beheading? I can assure y’all of one thing, old Hagar never tried that stunt again. Btw, y’all don’t try this at home guys. 😂😂🤣😂😂

    Hagar’s Ramblings

Priceless. Kids make the world go around. You described it so well, I could see her with her hands on her hips with that “look”. I have no daughters but I have a grand daughter who will probably have a similar attitude. lol My 10 year old son came up to me while I was in my recliner and asked very nicely if he could go ride the 4 wheeler. It was an automatic Kodiak 400 which was really too big for him (his feet didn’t touch the floor boards), but he could operate it anyway. I told him to knock himself out….. It’s what I bought the automatic for so he could ride it. Little did I know that he had already asked his mom, who was sitting across the room, if he could ride it and she had told him no, not until he did some chores for her. She said “Cody, I already told you no a while ago.” He told her,” Hey, you’re always butting in when I’m talking to my Dad.” I almost covered my head when he said that (flying objects), but looked over at my wife, and like Hagar, we could do nothing but laugh or butts off. He didn’t even get scolded and got to ride the 4 wheeler anyway. Thanks for listening. Something I’ll never forget.

  15. I have no dog in the fight either nor do I know any details. I do know winning and popularity is not everything. It lakes a lot more than that to be good leader, educator and administrator.

  16. That’s not true. They need to prioritize the elimination of hurtful words and traditions while promoting coaches and players from traditionally marginalized communities. The wrongs of the past must be righted and this is a start. Diversity is strength.
