  1. Man if we could only get the WOS vs Carthage fans going at each other on this thread, then it would really be something to behold.

Getting licks worked..... My son was acting up trying to be a comedian in I think 4th grade. We had a teacher/principle conference including my Son. They wanted to put three post it notes on his desk daily and every time he disrupted the class they would remove one note. When he ran out of notes he would be sent to principle. The punishment there would be running on a treadmill. I listened to this discipline plan with a grin. When they asked me my opinion, I told them I disagreed. He will have one post it note, not three. This would give him one warning then a trip to the office. In the office he would receive three licks, not run on a treadmill.....he was an athlete, that was exercise not punishment. My Son looked at me in disbelief when I said licks....lol The principle agreed, I signed a form, and he NEVER made it to the principle.......but my guess is he lost that one post it note daily......lol

  4. Vidor might not make the playoffs often or "go rounds" but it's satisfying humbling y'all. Too bad we aren't in 5A anymore.😟

I would say that anytime someone is accidentally shot, it is an unsafe atmosphere. I don’t think you have to go past the fact that was somebody was shot to declare it as unsafe It seems like that movie set was an accident waiting to happen.

  8. Here’s my statement: The Cougtalk moniker fits you well. Keep talking. I’m not sure who you are trying to convince about how great Crosby is or why you come on here all bowed up saying y’all are ready to take on (get beaten) by the top 4 in the state. Are you mad because you’re only ranked 10th? Is that what brought this on? Keep plugging away and let the record speak for itself. I come from Lumberton. As a program, we have never had success on a statewide level and only glimmering moments on a district level. I know who we are. A couple weeks ago when we beat Huffman Hargrave (the district nemesis and reigning DC), I never tried to say anything more than “good job”. Your problem is you spout so much crap that the smell becomes normal to you. Look Crosby has a very good program. Good job. That’s about all y’all deserve right now. But I know you need more hugs from mama, so here it goes: You’re a very important person. I wish I was you. Men aspire to be you and women dream of you. Heck, even men dream of you. You’re so smart too. And handsome. I wish I was you. Would you PM me so I can show everyone at work that I know you… …Hopefully that’ll get you past supper time anyway.

  9. Well Congrats, first time in lifetime Vidor is in fact ranked top 10. Now stay focused that Huffman team can bring some tomfoolery.

  10. I really do appreciate that. I know we give each other unwanted hell every once in awhile. But y'all did beat the best Slot T in the state with Liberty Hill, which is where Mathews goes to every few years to learn moe about the offense. But I wish y'all nothing but luck and success for the rest of the season to Crosby as well!

  11. It helps to generally have the top 2 players on the field every game Kirkwood and Miles are a dynamic duo that people will need to figure out to beat this Crosby team. We aren't just overthrowing receivers by 15 yards like we did in the first three games.

This defense reminds me of the old days. As bad as the offense has been, the defense is refreshing and they deserve recognition regionally and statewide.

  18. yes sir O line play & get rid of the JR High playbook. 92 by no means am I saying a run to state title, but if the DAWGS can get to 2-3 scores a game with the way the DARKSIDE(defense) has performed thus far Jasper can really make things interesting in Region III. Malcolm Bronson has done a superb job as a first year defensive coordinator! The 3-4 sophomore starting on defense have been fun to watch.

  19. The DAWGS head up to Center to play the Roughriders on Friday. Center is always a tough out for Jasper year in and year out. Being that Center's defense is as bad as Jasper's offense this has the making of an interesting game. It might shock some of you, but I am gonna go with Jasper getting the " W" to move to 3-1 in District locking up a playoff spot.

  20. Halfback pass for TD at Splendora. some impressive Trap action that hasn’t been used a lot but very productive (not really tomfoolery. More of a shenanigan IMO) Double tight end at times. They have passed out of it. Couple TDs. Not a standard formation for HH.

What I generally expect to happen is for the family of the deceased and the director to get a big chunk of money from him and the movie company in an undisclosed out of court settlement.

  24. I guess getting blown out and having a team drop 50 + on you is better than the years of either not making the playoffs or going out in the first or second round. (Pretty much all of Crosby's history)

Coach should work this game backwards. Start with 4 Th string then increase a string each quarter and have the starters begin the 4th quarter. That would be interesting 👍

    Texas City at PNG

If PNG is going to be successful running the ball on TC it's going to be up the middle. Your interior offensive linemen have a lot better chance of getting movement against their D-line than your RB does trying to hit the outside against their speedy linebackers. TC's d-line is their weakest position on that side of the ball. Again, if PNG is going to win Friday they're going to have to consistently move people off the ball at the line of scrimmage as well as try to hit three or four big pass plays against what's probably the best secondary in the district.

I don’t disagree at all with your thinking however I think bomb threats on campus are a felony. Once a bomb threat is called in, it is in the hands of the police, not the school district. I actually caught, arrested and proved who made a bomb threat when I was a detectives. They filed charges on the student. Corporal punishment is legal under state law however good luck in today’s world about getting that approved. While that is a great dream, it simply will not happen.

    Jasper @ Center

Malcolm's a really good coach. I just hope he stays in Jasper. Someone's gonna offer him a HC job if he can keep running out defenses like this one. I know we were critical of the offense that we ran the past few years, but in hindsight we would have been better off keeping it with this group. It wouldn't be as good as it has been, but we would score a little more. I think we're only averaging 11 ppg right now, but we're only allowing 9. That's crazy and it's possible that we could shut out either of the two teams left on the schedule.

…. and you are assuming that anti-gun Hollywood actors have a clue about gun safety? That is why they hire supposedly experts. Apparently in this case one of the experts screwed up big-time or maybe as has been rumored, they hired someone who claimed to be an expert that was not. In any case, high-speed chases, explosions, shoot outs, fight scenes, etc., depend on those experts. I doubt that John Wayne knows much about high explosives, putting out oil well fires, TNT, nitroglycerin or anything of that nature but I sure saw him do a lot of it in Hellfighters….. or maybe it was just the experts

I believe there is a huge difference between Silvester Stallone being handed an M60 machine gun for a movie take and you walking into Academy sporting goods and looking at a Glock 19. I would bet that hundreds of actors fire many thousands of rounds every year on television and movie sets. I would be surprised if any more than a handful knew anything about firearms at all. Those same movie sets have all kinds of special effects like explosions. Does the actor go check the connections on the explosives and gasoline for the special effects or do they trust experts? Almost 40 years ago with the Police Academy I learned that anytime you handed someone else a weapon, it was to be completely unloaded and the action open. The person that you handed it to was also supposed to inspect it to make sure that the first person followed the rules. When firing at the Police Academy range, when we left to go to lunch each cadet had to present an empty weapon with the action open to the cadet on either side of him/her for inspection to make sure it was clear and then an instructor had to come by and make a third inspection. I don’t think most actors went through those classes. Then… the cadet was expected to put live rounds into the weapon in a safe direction before preparing to fire. On a movie set, they are supposed to trust the experts because many or maybe most of the actors but not know how to properly load the weapon or could not tell between a dummy round and a live round anyway. I bet that I have seen it repeated 500 times on various forums…… the basic rules of firearm safety were not followed. That is absolutely correct however every time an actor points a gun or somebody else in the movies which we love to watch, they are breaking the first, second and third rules of firearm safety. It is certainly not the same as you loading a weapon in your house for self-defense, out in the field while hunting, at the range while practicing or looking over a weapon for maybe purchase or admiration. Anybody that brings up the rules of firearm safety apparently does not like to watch movies because anytime there is any gun play, there are several violations in each sequence. I have said it before but I suspect that if you change Baldwin to Eastwood and change the name of the movie from Rust to Dirty Harry and opinions would be way different. Alec Baldwin is a political idiot and a whiny crybaby. I don’t think you should be able to convicted of a felony because of his name however.

  48. It really has nothing to do with red or blue but two things. First, the person most instrumental in helping secure refining permits is your US representative which has been a republican for the Beaumont area since 1995. Second, my company is expanding its Beaumont refinery so what ever needed to take place at the city happened also. The issue is that there is a lot more automation and more contractors in the refineries now. That leads to a need for less permanent resources(residents) and creates a more transient workforce(guys living in travel trailers in these RV parks). That transient workforce usually doesn’t bring their kids and companies are figuring out how to operate with less and less so there’s not some huge need for employees at these refineries even when they’re expanded. These big refineries now are operating at about a quarter of the permanent personnel they used to 40 years ago. People are trickling from the smaller towns to the larger metro areas to take advantage of the job market in this places. That’s why you see contraction in SETX, not because some union guys are locked out right now.

  49. From his webpage, yesterday they tested him breathing without oxygen and using room air. I think he did better than expected and was able to breathe on his own however they put him back on oxygen to keep from stressing him. Yesterday he also showed response such as moving his toes on command. He was doing well enough today that they took him off of oxygen completely and also off of sedation.
