Here is something some people don't get. Fans sit in the stands and the kids play 😂😂. Fans can go back and forth all day. What matters is the kids out the court competing to win. Either way, both schools should feel proud as Silsbee wasn't expected to make it this far and Huffman making its 1st trip to the Regional Finals. I can guarantee Silsbee isn't overlooking Huffman and Huffman isnt overlooking Silsbee.

Just get the "W" point spread dont matter. Somewhat of a Trap game. Too close to the prize to be looking pass anyone. No cupcakes left after bi-district play. Stumble and and go home. Win on the court and not on paper. Go BU..... Get It Done...

All four teams (Silsbee, Huffman, Somerset, and Boerne) have agreed to play the next round (state semifinal) at Delmar Fieldhouse (Houston) Tuesday night @ 7:00 pm.

Seems like several Silsbee fans have concluded that Huffman is a win already. Wonder if the players feel the same? Not a good attitude going in a Regional Final, especially against a team with only one loss. Regardless of competition, only having one loss is impressive. Indicates to me the Falcons don’t have a lot of peaks and valleys, just a solid basketball team. I’d bet they aren’t overlooking Silsbee, and the Tigers would be wise not to overlook them.

Why aren’t law suits being filed? We supposedly have a pandemic and Joebama is allowing this?! Unless he’s trying to tell us there really isn’t a pandemic. Can’t have it both ways. You know, make us wear mask and then allow thousands of migrants in untested.

The head of the snake for Boerne is their PG. They also have a very solid big. However the pg is only 5'4 or 5'5 and in their losses this season struggled against length, which is a strength of HJ (length at the guard position). Boerne is very methodical in what they run and they run it well. Foul trouble will be a factor in this game. Quite sure Boerne will play zone against HJ to try to take away the effectiveness of HJ's guards. If HJ's defense can dictate the pace of this game then HJ is favored. Both teams run similar offenses so that should be interesting, HJ has a better overall roster but the little things will be huge in this game.

Silsbee better run Huffman off that 3pt line for sure. Huffman hasn't played near the caliber of teams Silsbee has but 27-1 is a heck of a record. Im just hoping Silsbee can keep it close 🙄😏

I'm sure there will be a Netflix special soon. Probably a three part series. That Harris rumor was quickly put to rest when it started on here. He can be the man (alone with Miller) in Silsbee and get more exposure. Silsbee is always in Dallas and San Antonio playing before district starts. Some of these kids being friends is how these rumors get started in the first place. I remember when Kasen Harrison was supposed to "finish out his high school career in Silsbee."

No this year like was previously states our region plays region 4 in a semi final site to be determined. And even in previous years your seeding scenario was not true. They do seed the teams normally but take the top two seeds, determined by winning percentage, and place them opposite each other. The teams they face are by random draw of the other two. This is discussed every year, but since only the state championships are going to be in SA, at least as a part of a state tourney, its different this year.

One of the best teams Silsbee has ever had barely beat Argyle the year they played in the championship semi finals. That was just a good Argyle team. This year's team is considered one of their best. Argyle plays almost mistake free slow down basketball. If a running team can get a fast break against them they should consider themselves fortunate. But..why am I saying all this? The Tigers still haven't played Huffman yet.

I think it will be Argyle, Boerne, Faith Family and Silsbee seeded in that order. Which means we would get Argyle in the semi and Faith in the final. And if by some miracle the unranked Tigers claw out a championship they will have beaten the top three ranked teams almost one after another to win it. And it would be the biggest story in the history of Texas high school basketball. And a movie would be made. And Denzel Washington will play Coach Sig (he has experience in that kind of role). And I think Shan Gilder should play himself. But would it be a miracle? Not if the ranking means anything. Why couldn't it happen? The Tiger win over the Lions wasn't exactly comfortable but it was a convincing 15 point victory. And the No. 2 team is supposed to be better than the No. 3 team right? So beating Argyle certainly isn't any kind of insurmountable thing. And the No. 2 team shouldn't be that far behind the No. 1 right? So a Silsbee win against Faith would be only a mild upset. In conclusion don't think it's premature to start thinking of a name for that movie.

The pandemic has had an effect on high school basketball in Texas, and probably everywhere else. Teams and players are not as free flowing as they used to be.

We played Cedar Park last year in Georgetown. They were solid on both ends, but very tough nosed on D. Well coached. Should be a great game between two great teams! GO 409!

Well well once again United will be the underdog going against #1 Cedar Park. United have defeated #9 and #4 in these playoffs. Never under estimate the heart of a champion. Georgetown was the #5 team Cedar Park held to 12 points. Shewolves will lace them up and leave all on the court Saturday afternoon. Go Shewolves...

I have to say i was not impressed by huffman in that seeding game. However they havent reached this point for no reason. They are going to be the type of team that can give the Tigers fits. We have to be patient on defense, play strong on that end and hit the boards. The more we can force the pace naturally the better, make good passes and decisions. This team is definitely playnig its best right now. Lets just keep it going.

If HJ can stay out of early foul trouble to keep the press alive and clean up some post play then they can win by 15+. if not, it could be another nail biter reliant on a late surge and late free throws. I have every confidence in Fogo and his assistants to manage the game as things play out.

I wanted Lumberton to win cause I know coach Mitchell and I like the guy, but other than that I have nothing to do with Lumberton nor do I live there. so really I didn’t want Huffman to win either. I don’t think texashoops stating he wants a team to lose on a sports forum because of certain coaches is going to dictate the actual winner/loser of a game....I understand you coach there but in reality what people say on this forum has no bearing.

Boerne just upset 1 of only 2 teams in the state that I thought were possibly better than HJ. That said, they're REALLY GOOD. Boerne has 4 losses on the year. One to a 5A regional finalist Georgetown by 3 points, one to SA Clark that ended the season 17-2 and could've made it to state (lost by 3 to the team representing their region in the state semis), and twice to Fredericksburg, who they just upset to face HJ. This is going to be the toughest opponent (by quite a margin) that HJ has faced since they played Summer Creek mid-November. Two silver linings: 1. HJ still got a bit of a break dodging Fredericksburg, who should've won against Boerne, and is better than Boerne. 2. HJ has been sloppy the last two games, and got tested twice when they probably shouldn't have. The hawks got two reminders of how to play in close games at just the right time. I'll take HJ by 8, but I'm really nervous about this one. HJ has to clean it up some. If they play like they did against China Springs and La Vega there's a really good chance their season ends.

The only problem with all of these accounts is they are based on other people's accounts. I was there and have no bias to either of the schools. I was right in front of where it all "went down". The HJ kid was already frustrated and when the ball got tied up and the Huffman kid would not give it up, the HJ kid slung him into the wall and started a melee of punches at him. The Huffman kid was completely thrown off and was trying to get him off. Yes the Huffman fans ran onto the court and most definitely shouldn't have. That being said they did not engage anyone and were quickly separated from the situation. The Huffman and HJ players both quickly got there as well and did a pretty good job of separating the kids and themselves from the other team. Other than the HJ kid throwing punches and the coaches shouting back and forth at each other there wasn't much action in all of it. The HJ kid in my opinion should have been suspended. Frustration is no excuse for how he handled that.
