$2000 a month of food stamps is crazy. We're able to afford what we want and my family of four doesn't spend but around half of that a month on food at the grocery store. And that's with these goofy prices.

What that tells me is….is it’s Culture. However... having enough ability to maybe fill a roster spot at PAM and being mentioned in the same sentence as "a chance to be looked at for scholarships" are so far removed from a comparison that it's laughable. I have to believe that not only SP, but just about any school that size that had a "scholarship player" would not only either figure out how to fill a schedule, but would be extremely competitive. Especially if we're talking skill kids. But.. I'd bet that any high school football player that truly has a chance at playing football at the next level isn't going to Sabine Pass.

And that was with keeping the coaching staff in tact… The juniors on that state finals team that lost to Gilmer were the more talented class than the seniors.. 3 D1 kids… but they had 0 leadership. Combine that with injuries and a region favorite was bounced in the second round last year. So many factors in high school football

You put enough stipulations on who you'll accept then it doesn't matter how many kids are drawn. If they're required to meet certain academic/behavior standards and live out of district, you can say no to every one of them.

I have to say thank you for what you're doing. I worked in the ambulance business for several years in my younger days. As a matter of fact TVC and I were both rookies......it was THAT long ago lol. A good majority of our calls were the homeless. I hate that we can't solve this problem. In Port Arthur there was a camp across from one of our Wal-Marts in the woods. The city allowed it for years until recently the city came down and cleared it out and made property owner clean it up. They just moved to a different location.

It would be interesting to see how few actually live in Sabine Pass vs how many come in through the open enrollment door. Sabine Pass is really an Industrial area, like downtown PA. It may have changed but, i don't think there's any place to get gas after dark? It's not setup to support the town folk. It's all about industry.

First scrimmage under new coaching staff and a different system against what seems to be an improved Crockett team who's always had talent anyway. Definitely need to fix things but no real shocker here. It's what scrimmages are for. New coach is still learning the personel and players still learning to execute in the new system. We get a couple "games" deep and we're still struggling we'll hit the panic button then

People in Huffman have been waiting on this year ever since these guys entered Jr high. Will be a complete shock if they do not win the district handily.
