Here’s the players.

Most of you familiar with District 10.

Vidor 6-0, Ltown 5-2, LCM 6-2, HH 5-2, LIV 5-2, and Splendora 4-3

District 9 has two bullies.

Kilgore 6-1, Lindale 5-3, Palestine 4-4, Mabank 5-2, Henderson 4-3, Chapel Hill 5-3, Athens 4-3.

You want to avoid playing Kilgore & Lindale.  Lindale has 3 losses but all three to high powered teams - Kaufman 7-0, Van 7-0, and Gilmer 6-1.  Also, K & L play last game of regular season for DC.

anyone want to guess on matchups?

Only can guess because you posted overall records and not district records.

In Dist 9 only sure things are Kilgore & Lindale, and drop Athens.  Other two are any ones guess.  And in 10, you can drop Splendora, and drop HH from the top two, and anything else is possible.  But your correct, so District 9.

Kilgore 3-0, Lindale 4-0, Palestine 2-2, Mabank 1-2, Henderson 1-2, Chapel Hill 1-3, Athens 0-3.

District 10

Vidor 2-0, Ltown 2-0, Liv 1-1, LCM 1-1, HH 0-2, Splendora 0-2.

Chapel Hill had been ranked highly until Lindale started their losing streak. They have played the top 2 (Lindale and Kilgor) along with the bottom (Athens). The last game they started a freshman at qb and rb. Their coach is also the old Crosby head coach Riordan. So, he knows Vidor and vice versa.

I've seen CH multiple times this season. I'm not sure CH makes the playoffs, ever since they had trouble with QB1 at halftime of the Palestine game that they eventually lost they've went downhill. (im told the trouble really started 4th qtr of the Lindale blowout loss) Freshman RB been starting and he's good, QB2 is a freshman and a damn good one too, he originally started at Safety, matter of fact their freshmen class as a whole is good from what I hear. QB1 is a JR but im not sure he's still on the team or suspended.

CH should definitely be better next season in my opinion.

Similar to Huffman who was ranked #7 by DC.  LCM & Ltown busted their bubble..

Btw, District 9 might have the two highest ranked teams (MaxPreps, and it’s not the most reliable, but merely a conversation piece) Kilgore & Lindale. But District 10 ranks higher overall in the 4A-D1 rankings.

Dist 9 - K 7, L 8, Pal 32, Mab 29, Hen 30, CH 18, Ath 41.  Avg 24

Dist 10 - V 9, LCM 10, Lt 16, Liv 22, HH 20, Sp 46.  Avg 20.5

The theory is, the top two teams in both Districts should win the first round games fairly easily, which is how it should be.  But….. things don’t always go like that.  🤔🙄🤔

And then the top two eventually meet up in later rounds but how far along into the playoffs would that be theoretically?

Looks like to me if the playoffs started today LCM vs Palestine Vidor vs Chapel Hill. Kilgore vs Lindale play the last game of the year so that should decide 1 and 2.

Probably about right.  I’ll take Lindale that last game against Kilgore.

Maybe Vidor should shoot for 2nd place in order to play Palestine… CH is usually pretty good, didn’t they take down our district champ in the first round last season?

Yep.  HH came in second & went three deep.

This is pretty much the deal in District 9 seeding:

Kilgore/Lindale or Lindale Kilgore 1 & 2 (play next Friday) - Palestine -Chapel Hill & Mabank all should end 3-3.  I think Mabank will be the one left out.  Pal beat CH, but since 3 are tied, if they go points, Mabank will get third.  Way over my head.

District 10 if Vidor wins:

Vidor - LCM - Ltown - HH

If Vidor loses:

LCM - Ltown - HH - Vidor

If Vidor loses and HH loses wouldn't Vidor go to 3 and Livingston to 4?

If Vidor wins.  DC of Dist 9 will be Lindale or Kilgore who play Friday.  Also, their third & fourth place will be a tie between 3 teams.  I think it’ll be Palestine & Chapel Hill who get the tie breakers, but not positive.

Vidor vs Chapel Hill

LCM vs Palestine

Ltown vs Kilgore

Huffman vs Lindale

If Vidor loses.

LCM vs CH

Ltown vs Palestine

HH vs Kilgore

Vidor vs Lindale

I’ve mentioned several times about Dist 9’s lack of defense.  Here’s some info on both Districts Points Against.

Vidor  170   Chapel Hill  252

LCM  184   Palestine  320

Ltown  195   Lindale  317

Huffman  118   Kilgore  233

Not sure what their approach is to defense, but it’s certainly not high up on their priorities.  It should be noted that they score a lot more points than Dist 10, but with defenses like they have, they have too.
