I heard from somebody that High Island lost some key players to injury and knew they wouldn't be competitive in this game so they decided to cancel and save wear and tear on remaining players. This combined with the uncertainty of the tropical storm at the time probably led to the cancellation. Lots of murmur around the county about Colmesneil Superintendent's strongly worded Facebook post announcing the game cancellation. Many feel it was unprofessional.

Not the reason that I've been told was given........had that been the reason, I'm quite sure it wouldn't be a forfeit.......
