So no destination on where he might be going.  There aren't any local head jobs available at this time, I don't think.  There are some assistant jobs out there though.  Lumberton or H-J?

May be a significant cut in pay to go to an assistant from a head job??

I asked around and heard from a board member that Wilson has not said much.  I do know Wilson don't need money he's retired military and does really good for himself.  That's what make him special because he does it for the right reason and not money.  He will be missed over here for sure and I am sad to see him go but over here in Mustang Country its next man up.

Maybe Yates should apply...  🤷🏾‍♂️

Do I think he should apply? I'm not sure what he wants to do at this point.  I can certainly find out, though.  Last I heard, he was exploring going back to the college ranks.

Nephew came home today that Coach Wilson resigned.  Sad that we can’t keep the good ones.  Hopefully we find someone that cares about the boys and game as much he does.  Sad day!!

When competing with a Football school and numbers aren't Big then IMO the turnover rate is gonna be high cause the better athletes are playing Football and the Football coaches aren't concerned about the hoop program.

@hooohead.com Wilson ran his open gyms and there were 40 to 50 kids everyday.  He had more young men in the program than I’ve seen over here in years.

I talked to someone and they said it was because WOS wouldn’t allow him to keep the gym open and he had to do a request every time he wanted to open the gym.

It’s sad we keep running the good ones off.  We’re losing a ton of teachers over here to other schools this year.  Teachers that went to school here which hurts.

This one is a real head scratcher.  Mustangs are building a new state of the art basketball facility and they got some really good players coming back.  Which one is your nephew, Jack?  WOS was playing some really good ball at the end of the year.  I thought they gave Huffman a better game than anyone not named Argyle in the playoffs.  What was their final record last year?

WO-S didn't give Huffman a game better than Silsbee did in that regional final game.

I stand corrected.  10-16 with those athletes isn't really that great now that I think about it, but I do like Wilson.  WOS needs a coach who will come in and teach those guys to be under control along with really athletic.  Any applicants?  Josh Mitchell would be a good fit.  Does WOS pay enough to pull him from the dynasty he's built in Lumberton?

No.

And even if they did, I would consider that a lateral move.

Why would he leave his hometown to go to WOS? I think that is a backwards move.

I’m a big Josh Mitchell fan. Been watching him as a player and coach for years. He’s done a tremendous job in Lumberton but I don’t think the Raiders would qualify as a dynasty 😂

Still no coach over here at WOS.  Sad that our boys have to go to Lamar and other school gyms to shoot basketball.  Good news is our weight room is open everyday.

After they hit the weights, there's a few of them playing down the road everyday... til after the mosquitos come out.
