OVERVIEW

Anytime time a new coach is on the scene, high schoolers have trouble adjusting to the new scheme.  No bigger example can be found than the 2020 Dayton Broncos.  The Broncos struggled mightily under new head coach Blake Ware as the they failed to get a single victory in 2020.  While the 2021 will be a fairly young team, they will not be short on talent.  Five starters of offense and four starters, including some key leaders, to get back into the playoffs.

Five starters return to the Dayton power spread offense in 2021.  Senior quarterback Blayne Denton returns to lead the Bronco attack.  Returning to shoulder the rushing attack will be senior running back Daveon Washington.  Senior wide receivers Donovan Orebo (1st team all-district) and Ashton Garner (2nd team all-district) will head a receiver unit which will also see contributions from senior wide out Isaac Ramirez, juniors Braylen Cook and Kody Arceneaux, as well as freshmen Mikey Celestine and Ashanti Allen.  Senior offensive tackle Brennan Chauvin will lead an offensive line which will feature junior lineman Alex Romero and senior Noah Brown.

Four starters return to the Bronco defense in 2021.  Up front, senior defensive end Camron Cooper returns to a unit which will include fellow seniors Josh Esquivel (defensive line) and Emmanuel Hagar (defensive end).  Senior outside linebackers Cameron Willis and James Harris will return to a squad which will also get contributions from junior outside linebackers Trace Owen and Jackson Purse, freshman inside linebacker Andrew Soliz and junior inside linebacker Sedric Smith.  Senior cornerback Victor Zuniga will anchor an otherwise young secondary which will feature freshmen safeties Celestine and Allen as well as junior cornerbacks Braylen Cook and C.J.
