Tomorrow could be a trap game?  Huge emotional high tonight. Got to avoid a low that sometimes follows. Wharton should be more rested...

I worry with young teams especially.  But they should be considerably better than Wharton and those 15 year old legs respond a lot better and faster than we give them credit.  Come out and play hard and hopefully they will be fine.  But man you’re right - that’s a huge emotional win tonight they have to immediately put behind them and refocus.

Wow.  Deja vu all over again.

I wont compare the duos,  all stepped up and contributed.  Big difference to me is that Jordyn and Devon stepped into a solid team with lots of upper class,  these freshmen step up and only have really have 2 srs that have had much varsity experience.

Want another of those moments??  The makeup of that team, when Adams and MCCain were freshman, had more juniors and srs, 8 to this years 5.  But each of those two teams at least the current playoff roster and that state finalist team list 3 freshmen and 4 sophomores.

This group will be focused today...Big Win yes...This group has played in Big Moments before especially Harris when he and Yates from United played AAU together in multiple tourneys as well as Big Crowds due to playing alongside Lebron James Jr...AKA...Bronny.......Harris and Miller both play AAU for the Houston Hoops and are always playing somewhere every weekend in the summer. They will be ready.

This Silsbee team is very talented but still very YOUNG. They cannot afford to break their arms patting themselves on the back, because this same team lost to Lumberton at home and finished second in district.  They are capable of winning region 3, yet being so young, they are also capable of losing to an inferior team as well.  ONE GAME AT A TIME. That one is over against Yates. Now they MUST refocus in 24 hours mind you, to play another playoff team. That might not be easy to do for 14 and 15 year old kids, playing in their first playoffs in front of the largest crowds in their young lives.

Silsbee had 3 freshman on the count the majority of the 4th quarter when they pulled away. Miller/Bottley/Harris. All three were playing in the big jr high tourney about this same time last year.

They showed who they were when Yates got to within 2 points early in the 4th. They probably would have lost a game like this early in the season.

These definitely weren't the same Lions from seasons past though. The team that beat Silsbee a few years ago was a good 3 point shooting squad and money from the free throw line. They also didn't turn the ball over that much. I re-watched this game last night, and the big kid was called out as 7 feet tall when they were announcing the starting lineup, btw. He certainly looked the part.

Yeah I think Silsbee will be focused as I heard Coach Sigler mention they would celebrate last night but today a new team we play. Wharton is no push over but I believe Silsbee wins and moves on to play Waco Connelly in the Regional Tourney.

So Waco Connally obviously beat LBJ.  Yates was a mystery team all year because they didn't have any showcases or holiday tournaments. Their big man looked every bit of 7 ft tall.  That yesterday.

Wharton is still in the playoffs so you got to respect them.   We shall see.

Swear to God I’m gonna have to pay @Boneyard Boysto go to these games.

Just seeing all this, lost my phone last week in an unfortunate boating accident. Silsbee pulled it off, hot damn Tigers way to go. I had them picked to pull the upset by 5 and they bested that by 10, great job boys.

Yep they beat Warton the next night and now play Waco Connally in Regionals.

    • Really good hire! As I stated previously on this thread, Mike T has been an essential part of WB’s success the last few years & is a student of the game & I have a ton of respect for how he goes about things as a coach. Big on teaching kids how to do things the right way to prepare them for not only basketball but the game of life. He’ll be fine there, my only question is what kind of talent does WB have returning?  Best thing about this situation for Mike T is WB will be 5A for at least the next 2 years, so he should win a lot of games & have some deep playoff runs.
    • So which coaches kid gets the QB job? Trotter or Barrier
    • A Winnie land owner (and others) sued the State of Texas after they built IH-10 a few feet higher in order to help contain storm flooding. Sure enough a hurricane hit and flooded the land. The storm improvements worked!! Unfortunately the state sacrificed several people’s properties in using the interstate highway as a dam.  Richard DeVillier tried to sue Texas under our laws and Constitution and the US Constitution under the Fifth Amendment “taking clause” (eminent domain). After a favorable ruling in the federal district court on the right to sue Texas directly, the Fifth Circuit Court in New Orleans overturned that ruling and said that the DeVlier had no authority to sue Texas directly.  On Tuesday a unanimous US Supreme Court ruled that DeVillier and others had the right to sue Texas directly under Texas law and under the Fifth Amendment of the US Constitution. The case is now sent back down to the lower court. DeVillier and others have not won their lawsuits as the case has not been decided on its merits at a trial. He still has to go to prove his case. What they did win was a unanimous Supreme Court agreeing that he has the right to bring Texas to trial for taking his property with just compensation.
