A true Golden Triangle legend, Billy Tubbs passed away tonight at 85 near Lake Texoma.

The Lamar community will always remember his contributions to our school. He was a great Cardinal.

I was too young to see the Cards when he put them on the map in the late 70's, but I enjoyed watching his teams at OU after he left Beaumont and it was cool to see him come back to LU to finish out his career. His style of play was very entertaining. That's for sure.

He'll definitely be missed.
