THE UIL IS WATCHING

The moral of this story.....if you are fortunate enough to go to a game this weekend.......SPREAD OUT AND WEAR A DAMNED MASK!!!

I know that there are many who think that this is being overblown and this is some vast government conspiracy to scare us into compliance.  I don't care.....SPREAD OUT AND WEAR A DAMNED MASK!!!

There are some who say that these rules don't consider the current science.  I don't care.....SPREAD OUT AND WEAR A DAMNED MASK!!!

I know that there are many who don't like masks because they are uncomfortable! I don't care......SPREAD OUT AND WEAR A DAMNED MASK!!!

I can tell you that there are a number of UIL rules that many coaches don't agree with, they comply with them anyway because they know that they will face consequences if they don't.

If the UIL is pushed to closing down sports, they will blame those of us who didn't comply with their guidelines.  It won't be right....it may not even be true...but it will be what they do.

Look, I am slated to broadcast the Lumberton/Coldspring game on Friday night.  I plan on wearing a mask all throughout so I apologize in advance.  If I can wear it for 3 hours, so can you.

Agree 100%

It doesn't matter what we think about the virus, we're not in charge.

If we want football (and other sports) to keep going this year we're going to all have to follow the rules set in place whether we like it or not.

If the UIL is truly concerned what’s best for the people and athletes then they need to look at the data coming out of the CDC recently that tells a totally different story when it comes to this virus.

UIL is just trying to cover their butts.

I don't really like the rules either...but I want these kids to have a season more.

Your choice.

But it's a business, school, public and private entity to have the right to require a mask.

No different than the "no shoes, no shirt, no service" policy.

If home team can not follow the rules and dictate how it’s suppose to go on that team should forfeit the game/lose privilege to host fans the next week/ or move next said home game to be played on the road. Can’t follow rules needs to be repercussions. Me personally turn that district win to a loss teams will take things very serious then

Small schools going to mess up for 5A/6A...

Just a reminder, this mask rule that is in the UIL guideline is due to Governor Abbott's executive order.  First event of failure is a warning, second is a $250 fine per subsequent offense.  If I were a mayor in a town that one of these games were being played in, I would have the police chief have the department out IN FORCE at one of these games.  A REAL good way to make up for some budget shortfalls.

That’s a good way to lose your position as mayor lol

UIL wants to make sure all the sheep stay in line for the fake pandemic that no one cares about anymore.  The truth about this insanity will come out eventually.  When does it end and who gets to decide that?

I don’t wear a mask much past the gate, but I’m also not sick, nor do I sit within 15 feet of anybody else.  CDC says I don’t have to wear a mask if I maintain distance.

That said, I attended two games this weekend.  And I do think the schools should be making a better effort to at least block off every other row or some other way to enforce distancing.  Yes, I saw some enforcement at the gate but little in the stands.  We all want football.

If you do stay home be sure and tune into SETXSports.com or watch the game on TexanLive!  I for one would like to see the entire season of all H.S. Sports!  This week I would be listening to that East Chambers beat down of H.J.  I heard that the broadcaster is pretty great!  9 out of 10 dentists agree 😜

All heck just haul those Damned Maskless People to jail.... Oh wait because of the virus people are being let out of jail instead of being given a mask to stay in jail. Good Grief! There wouldn’t be a budget short fall if our Weak Governor wouldn’t have lockdown the economy. Businesses and People’s livelihoods are dying everyday.

This is definitely not a fake pandemic! My great aunt passed away because of this virus!

You might be right. Or not.

But to be fair, when has 5A-6A ever cared even one tiny bit about the small schools? Oh they are happy to recuit someones star player, but beyond that, ZERO.

Hence small Championship games at AT&T at 10 am Thursday morning, etc.

Its not fake, but it is VASTLY overblown with FAKE NUMBERS. I posted a month or two ago about a terminally ill elderly person died in a nursing home. Weeks later the son notices "Covid related" written in as cause of death. Son inquires to nursing home "who did this and when was this diagnosis made"?". Nursing home has no answer or record to produce. FAKE NUMBERS!

They will care if the UIL shuts down football before 6A/5A can even start due to the small schools not complying with policy.

4A DI and 5A DI state championships were played at 10 am last year.

    • 3 yrs ago LCM and Vidor played in Vidor for a play in game.  Game was on a Saturday and started around 1 or 2p.
    • It would shock me beyond belief if he tried to. Now, I hope and pray he appoints people that will investigate, charge, and imprison anyone found guilty of the crimes against him...including treason. I would be all for a special task force charged solely with the task of investigating crimes against Trump. Of course the Democrats will be screaming bloody murder that Trump is weaponizing the government against them. We all know the story. From a cursory standpoint, there seems to be a plethora of evidence to lock up many Democrats for a long time. Unless this is done, I see no end to destruction of our political system...and this country.
    • There is a difference, but I wouldn't at all put it past Trump to do so if he had the infrastructure in place to get away with it like the Dems currently do.  With the amount of effort he's invested in ruining those republicans who've opposed him, it wouldn't surprise me one bit.
    • I think it will be an interesting case and could potentially come up for appeal on a different constitutional point.  The Supreme Court has ruled in the past that the government doesn’t have to take possession of property in order to take it under the meaning of the Fifth Amendment.  If they take away the enjoyment or use of the property, it is no different than physically seizing it to build a highway for example. In a lawsuit as opposed to a criminal trial, a person/plaintiff doesn’t have to prove something beyond a reasonable doubt but rather by a preponderance of evidence or “more likely” to have happened. Maybe it could be described as more likely yes than no or 51%-49%.  ”IF” it can be shown at a trial by a preponderance of evidence that Texas more likely yes than no caused the flooding with its engineering of the project, the people suing might have a case. But…. Does that alone win the case under the Fifth Amendment taking clause? I am not so sure. In US v Causby the Supreme Court ruled that the US government took a man’s property by flying airplanes over it. It was a public airport lawfully leased by the US in WWII and used to fly heavy bombers from it. Causby had an egg farm and the extremely loud noise of some airplanes under full power and sometimes at night with a landing lights being so close, it bothered and scared the family and damaged his egg farm production. Some chickens died and some quit laying eggs due to the extreme disturbances and lights at night. The Supreme Court ruled in Causby’s favor saying that the US had taken away the enjoyment and use of his land even though they didn’t physically seize it. The use of the land was hampered and that was enough for the taking clause under the Fifth Amendment. So in the IH-10 case, did Texas take away the use or enjoyment of the property?  A point of Causby was that the military bombers at a public airport was certainly for “public use”. The planes were public/taxpayers’ and the airport and lease were taxpayers’ property so the “public” definitely used it   My question in this lawsuit against Texas, even in they can prove the damage, was the damage (like in Causby) for “public use”? If not would it then not be a Fifth Amendment case but rather a state law case?  If Texas law denies such a lawsuit under state sovereignty and the families can’t prove a Fifth Amendment case of “public use”, could they prove the damages but still lose the case under state law? I haven’t read that anywhere and just thinking out loud. I could be way off base. But I think it could be interesting…..
    • Both sides...that is, everyone tries to get their people elected. Trump has not weaponized the government to bankrupt and imprison his political opponents. Night and day difference for me.
