RIP Coach Washington and Coach Basinger

Lost in all of the hoopla was the fact that it was a very sad day as two longtime coaches passed away.

Andrew Washington, former Central head coach and longtime assistant at Beaumont-Charlton-Pollard, Central and most recently at Kelly, passed away on Monday.

Also, Del Basinger, long time coach and most recently an assistant at West Orange-Stark before his retirement in 2018, passed away on Tuesday morning.

I was a student at Anahuac when Basinger joined the staff there in the early 80s. He was a great coach and that voice of his was unmistakable. RIP coach.
