CORRIGAN-CAMDEN BULLDOGS

2019 Record: 6-5 Overall, 3-2 District

Co-District 12-3A-II Runner Up

 

2019 saw the steady Corrigan-Camden football team again qualified for the Class 3A, Division II playoffs.  As longtime Coach Seven Armstrong has left the program, the Bulldogs have turned to one of their own to continue their winning way.  Bulldog alum Brett Ratliff left his athletic director and head coaching position at Hondo to take over the Corrigan-Camden head job. Ratliff inherits a young, but experienced squad (6 starters on offense, 4 on defense) to extend the Bulldogs' streak.

 

COACHING

Assistant Coaches: Jeremy Durham, Kevin Purvis, Neil Sharum, Rayford Sweat, Matthew Killingsworth, Amaro Villareal, Garrison Smith

 

OFFENSE

Six starters return to the Corrigan-Camden Pro Set in 2020.  Sophomore quarterback Christian Hood (2nd team all-district) returns to lead the Bulldog offense. Senior running back Matthew Moody and sophomore running back Anthony Harrell will join him in the backfield.  A veteran offensive line of seniors Matthew Durham and James Hight and junior Zack Purvis will be joined by sophomore Wesley Smith.

 

DEFENSE

Four starters return to the Bulldog 4-3 defense in 2020.  Senior linebacker Matthew Moody (2nd team all-district) and sophomore linebacker Kadyn Burke will pace the Corrigan-Camden front seven.  Senior Nelson Flores will anchor a Bulldog secondary which will also feature junior Davion White and sophomore Javarion Williams.

 

SPECIAL TEAMS

Flores (1st team kicker and punter) will do both the kicking and punting for Corrigan-Camden.  The returners will be finalized at preseason practice.
