1) How close do you follow the rest of the playoffs if your team loses?
I follow fairly closely if local teams are still in action.
2) What would you consider a deep playoff run? Third Round is a good run for us.

3) If a team beats you in the 1st or 2nd round but wins state, does that lessen the heartache of the early loss?  I don’t think so... but I guess it kinda depends on how badly you lose. We lost in the first round to Coldspring 7-0 around 2012 and that hurt. Getting shelled by Carthage in the first round in ‘15 wasn’t a big deal.

4) Who is your team and what are your programs expectations going into each year? ex: (make the playoffs) (win a playoff game or two) (play Thanksgiving) (win region) (state or bust) Bridge City has been my team for about 10 years and the expectations have risen as fallen. There were expectations of making the playoffs, then playing on Thanksgiving weekend. Now it’s an upset if we make the playoffs.

5) Is there anything you would like to do to the playoff format? ex: (reduce teams) (not allow anyone to play where the state game is played) (no one gets home field) not particularly.

6) What is your programs longest consecutive playoff streak?  Not long, lol.

7) What is your programs overall playoff record?  State Champs in ‘66.

😎 Do you just follow your classification in the playoffs or do you pay attention to other classes?  Mostly just ours and that of a few other local programs.

9) Which stadium during the playoffs seems lucky to your program? Abe Martin in Lufkin is hell.

10) Do you watch playoff games at your home field between other teams? We, like Silsbee, don’t host playoff games at historic Larry Ward Field in scenic Bridge City, Texas.

9) Which stadium during the playoffs seems lucky to your program?

10) Do you watch playoff games at your home field between other teams?

1) Yes

2) 3 rounds

3) Although it sounds good to say "It took the state champs to knock us out of the playoffs"....no.

4) West Orange-Stark.  And while some think this expectation should change after the last realignment, it is state or bust.

5) I guess this would only tangentially change the playoff format, but my change would be to require that districts of less than 6 schools play a double round robin district schedule.  I hate that a team can get into the playoffs with one district win.

6) It's current streak - 15 years (2004-present)

7) 72-26-1 (or 73-26 as WO-S advanced in that tie game on penetrations)

8 - All classifications

9) The Astrodome was pretty good to WO-S in the '80s.  The Mustangs have done well at the Butch and Randall Reed Stadium, losing only once at each venue (ironically, to the same team).

10) It has been more than 30 years since WO-S hosted a playoff game, but I did attend that one.

1) I usually and routinely follow the team that near my team or a team that my team has played.  Kinda a way to stack up how my team looks compared to the best in the state.

2) 3 Rounds or more

3) Yes, absolutely.  Lol

4) Beaumont Central - Expected deep playoff run. Beaumont United  - make the playoffs.

5) Go back to 3 playoff teams making the playoffs, district champion hosts first round game, regardless of classification.  Only one team qualifies for playoffs in 4 or 5 team district

6) I think 5 or 6.

7) don’t know the exact number. But probably right at .500.

😎 all other classes, mainly big schools.

9) Stallworth Stadium in Baytown (unlucky is without a doubt, Deer Park Stadium)

10) yes, I’ve done it a few times.  Turned out to be some very interesting games!

1) How close do you follow the rest of the playoffs if your team loses?

I've got certain teams that I follow no matter what.

2) What would you consider a deep playoff run?

3 rounds

3) If a team beats you in the 1st or 2nd round but wins state, does that lessen the heartache of the early loss?

Well, since that's normally the teams that beat us, it doesn't really lessen the hurt but we can say only the state champs beat us.

4) Who is your team and what are your programs expectations going into each year? ex: (make the playoffs) (win a playoff game or two) (play Thanksgiving) (win region) (state or bust) The Silsbee Tigers, state or bust

5) Is there anything you would like to do to the playoff format? ex: (reduce teams) (not allow anyone to play where the state game is played) (no one gets home field) none

6) What is your programs longest consecutive playoff streak? 13 Years

7) What is your programs overall playoff record?  to many games, a lot of research on that one.

😎 Do you just follow your classification in the playoffs or do you pay attention to other classes? All classifications

9) Which stadium during the playoffs seems lucky to your program? Don't matter what stadium we play in, except that one in Lufkin. I don't even want to say the name.

10) Do you watch playoff games at your home field between other teams? Our stadium has hosted several playoff games, but not since 2009.

Well, the answer for #2 did give me pause as for the Mustangs, it is 4 rounds.  However, for most teams in this area, 3 is the benchmark.

As to #9, you again have corrected me as I thought that one was at LU.

1) How close do you follow the rest of the playoffs if your team loses?
I follow everyone

2) What would you consider a deep playoff run?

For me 3 rounds is a pretty good run

3) If a team beats you in the 1st or 2nd round but wins state, does that lessen the heartache of the early loss?

It just means we lost to a really good team

4) Who is your team and what are your programs expectations going into each year? ex: (make the playoffs) (win a playoff game or two) (play Thanksgiving) (win region) (state or bust)

Nederland and I expect us to play the day after Thanksgiving

5) Is there anything you would like to do to the playoff format? ex: (reduce teams) (not allow anyone to play where the state game is played) (no one gets home field)

I would like to see 3 teams with district champion getting homefield. Have the 2nd and 3rd place teams face each other similar to the old zone format and have the winner of that game face the district champion of the opposite district in round 1.

6) What is your programs longest consecutive playoff streak?
Made the playoffs 11 straight seasons 1996-2006

7) What is your programs overall playoff record?

47-35-3

8) Do you just follow your classification in the playoffs or do you pay attention to other classes

I follow all classifications

9) Which stadium during the playoffs seems lucky to your program?

I'll name 3

Lamar University

Beaumont ISD Stadium

Pasadena Memorial Stadium

10) Do you watch playoff games at your home field between other teams?

I don't recall ever seeing Bulldog Stadium host a playoff game unless Nederland has been one of the teams playing
