Lumberton looked like the better team, but the LCM boys showed up to play.  LCM out worked, out played, and out coached a good Lumberton team.  LCM gave the district a good script to beat Lumberton.  Face guard the McClure kid and put pressure on their two guards.  I’m not sure whether the Lumberton coaches didn’t try to counter this defense or if the kids just didn’t listen doing as they were told.  Lumberton still had a chance to win in the end with less than a minute left and LCM has no fouls give but their guard turned it over while running out the clock.  LCM then put the game away.

LCM looked solid for a young team, I tip my hat to them for a good win.  Jeffcoat did a good job preparing for this game.  The LCM scorer, Jesse quietly put up 22 puts, half of those from the line, and a couple key 3-pointers.  LCM did a good job mixing and matching players throughout the game.  On offense the worked the ball to find mismatches against Lumberton's man defense they seemed to steadily attack the same Lumberton player.  LCM’s Smith took the ball to the hoop strong.  Their big (#15?) got in some foul trouble early but their bench did well covering for him.  Lumberton starters looked sluggish and out of sync.  It’s got to be concerning for Lumberton who only has 9 Varsity players, they appear to play 7 players but only substitute based on foul trouble.  Hopefully Lumberton can make some adjustments to their rotation, It would be interesting to see McClure and their left hander (#3?) play more guard, then using the bench Center (#11?) and bench G/F (#10?) more in a rotation instead of foul trouble replacements.  I have no doubt Mitchell is racking his brain so they don’t have another flat game like last night.

It was a fun game to watch best of luck to both these teams as they make pushes for playoff spots.

That is one of the best game write ups I've ever seen on here.  Good job!  How did the LCM freshman point guard look?  I've heard he has been playing well.

I don’t know how good he is in bBall but he is a good football player and was on varsity this year. Can’t wait to see what the future holds for the young guy.

He was not there. Out of town.

So LCM goes into Lumberton and wins without their starting point guard?  That's big for them.  I heard they'd lost some kids from last year and early scores showed it.  Maybe they are coming around, maybe the district is wacky.

Lumberton will be fine.  I always like to pull for Josh Mitchell.  You can tell he is living and dying with every possession.  Some coaches just sit there.  Or play stall ball.
