Not sure if it’s related to his kid but he’s been dealing with serious health issues for some time.   No one had a chance to lure him out of that part of the country because that climate is supposedly the best possible for his son.

I follow UW pretty closely after living in Seattle for over a decade at one time. He said that he had projects in the works related to teaching leadership principles to groups of people. He'll also be a liaison to the UW athletic department. He's only 55, so it's not out of the realm of possibility that he'll coach again, but he said that he'd "like to not coach again." Everyone there seems to think that Jimmy Lake could be just as effective as Petersen was. He did a lot of the recruiting and has sent multiple guys from his defenses to the NFL.

Does he come out and say he will win the West in 2 years then leave after a year? Like Tennessee lol I’m surprised a major university is really giving him another shot. But maybe Saban taught him some stuff...
