  1. Humble pie works both ways. You know the players at several schools. Kountze has some very humble players and coaches. The coaches also coach more than basketball. If you know Joubert he is a very self less man, humble and highly regarded. He coaches the game win or lose and move to the next one. The last few years when Kountze was getting bullied on the court no one was crying about people running up the score on them. They took those whoppings and kept playing Kountze isn’t worried about how many points are scored or who is the leading scorer . Orangefield played great last night and much better than the game at Kountze. The first quarter was awesome. But Kountze rallied and fell short by 5. Who knows if the PG hadn’t of fouled out with about 3mins left and Kountze made free throws , what would have happened. Ghost and Wrinkle played amazing. The old heads from Kountze get on here and talk smack. And people do get in their feelings. Don’t put that on the coaches or kids. You can ask Whitmire about Joubert and how he runs the team.
  2. I have a ton of respect for the coaching profession, always have and always will. I have not been unfair to any coach or the coaching profession I have stated under Barrow’s leadership and his assistants, the Bulldogs have been very bad. That is not unfair , it is a true statement I have said that Reyes assistants do like working for him and that he doesn’t know much about football. Simply talk to the assistants and see what they say. Maybe they will tell you something different than they told me As for Silsbee, yes they have been good, however people always overrate them by suggesting they are state champions every year There are a ton of excellent head coaches and assistant coaches in the SE Texas area Examples: BH, PNG, EC, HF, Anahuac, Silsbee, LCM, and many more I suggest that your statement is totally incorrect, when stating I am unfair
  3. Only a certified dumbass would believe Port Arthur Memorial will win less than 6 games in the regular season this upcoming season. It's comical actually real talk And if anyone got a rebuttal bring it to me personally. If it's the Right One it'll get smoked permanently. Now imma leave it at that and that's it. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Back to news about 9-5A D1.
  4. All of this PNG talk on this thread but no mention on how good their basketball team is ??
  5. I understand everyone likes to talk of the difference of the approach of the school districts between NISD and PNGISD. Yes, there are definitely differences between them, but I think the elephant in the room is that there is a significant difference in the revenue brought into each school district. Despite the feeling that NISD is equal on everything with their neighbors across the tracks, the reality is NISD is not a “wealthy” school district. Everyone likes to complain that NISD does a horrible job of doing this and doing that, but in a sense they do amazingly well with what resources they have. Could they do better? Yes. Could they be more creative? Yes. But, it’s not as easy as being about mismanagement of the district or poor decisions. And, apparently the people constantly criticizing NISD have caviar dreams on a McD’s budget. NISD does not have the industries that PNGISD has. Its major revenue is on the home properties, and last I checked they are pretty landlocked. Look at a majority of the large successful programs in the state with state of the art facilities who are “wealthy”, and yes, they usually have good programs. However, the game is still played on a field whether the stadium is $100 million or $100,000. What is lacking in NISD currently is the mentality and attitude of a champion. Nederland was down for many years prior to Coach Neuman. What he brought was an attitude and a belief that they were at a championship level and winners. There were many years that Nederland was lacking in talent and still won, beating much more talented teams from PNG. Currently, the mental game is being lost every game because the attitude isn’t there. Yes there needs to be a focus on getting back to the basics of football. Discipline. Skill development. And attitude. But, good grief Charlie Brown, how about people just embrace where NISD is as a district with limited resources and be supportive of the children in the district. I’m sure all the “experts” on this board will pile on and go off on how they have held tickets for x number of years and they have 10 million bulldog shirts. At the end of the day, it’s 15,16,17, year old young men playing football. The Negative Nellys are quite ridiculous. Let’s just see what happens and be supportive and have a little faith instead of just constantly complaining how NISD can’t be trusted and they will screw this up and yada yada. PNGISD made a great hire based on recommendations by TD. And good for them. It turned out well for them. Why don’t we just see what Monday brings and quit complaining? Apologies for the rant. But, there needs to be some reality on here.
  6. It's basketball season. Plenty of time for that talk later.
  7. If they choose the one from L-town, it will soon be worse than the previous staff. If you talk to his assistants they will tell you that he knows little about football and is an extremely weak AD
  8. UN appeals for $7.9 billion to help millions of migrants flee climate change, conflict. From the article: "The United Nations has appealed for a whopping $7.9 billion to bolster its efforts to migrate people around the world who it says have been forced to leave their homes for various reasons, including climate change and conflict. The plea was made by the U.N.’s International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Geneva Monday to support its operations and help "create a system that realizes migration’s promise as a force for good throughout the world."" The UN's Organization For Migration. Hummmm!! The UN, as I understand it, was created so nations could talk instead of going to war. I'm failing to see where the UN's IOM fits into this category! 9. It is pretty funny to listen to people talk about scheme and how important it is. If you have the athletes, any scheme can be successful. The key is not the scheme, but rather the ability to coach it, make adjustments and the ability of play callers. Every scheme has the ability to run the ball and the opportunity to throw it. Really, it is all about the ability and willingness to call the plays and when to call them. Plenty of pass plays in the wing-t and slot-t playbooks. Coaching matters, but if you don't have the DUDES......
  10. you're neglecting the fact that you claimed that this team is the same as the last two teams, which is obviously not the case. That is not a fact. That's not even an opinion, it's just completely wrong. you aren't offending anyone, but many of the posters on this site don't necessarily agree with your "facts", especially since all you do is complain about the teams you "support" and talk as negatively and badly about them as possible in about 90% of your posts.
  11. Everyone wants to talk about getting rid of pollard imo we keep him but he’s not a 3 down back. We gotta go out and sign Derrick Henry. That will help out a lot. Please sign/ draft linebackers!! Overshawn when he gets healthy will be one. But we need 2 true ILB
  12. Dallas needs many things to get back to winning. They talk about the secondary coach being very good and yet that is one of the worst secondary’s in the NFL. I personally do not see 1 player there that is a quality player. You may say Bland, but if you watch closely he gets beat more times than not. Next they must find a LB’er coach and get rid of #14 and #33. They have got to be 2 of the worst LB’ers in the NFL. Dan Quinn is not a good DC. Offensively, the OL is extremely poor. I would fire that coach as well and the majority of us know that Prescott chokes in big games. They are simply going to have to rebuild and do a much better job in the draft. This is going to take a few years and yes as long as Jones is in charge it will not happen The last thing I have to say is that Belichic is not the answer. Jones will not leave him alone to get the job done
  13. Administration, pay attention: The number one thing we need to remember -- No more "Home Cooking." Now, everyone knows how sensitive I am (Grin), If anyone can show me an ex Nederland person that as a head coach has won at least two State Titles in a classification 3A and up, then we'll talk.
  14. Best thing to do is leave Dallas in Dallas, and focus on our 5AD2 State Champions. Let's talk about the PNG Indians, and quit talking about SOC and DISD. All that keeps the wrong thing in the spotlight. PS: We all know SOC isn't the Mecca. That title will always belong to the Crosby Cougars. #codered #therealmecca
  15. Cause they are all talk till it affects them and even then some still stay the course not the brightest group AT ALL
  16. Trump Plans Aggressive Expansion of Electoral Map, Says He’ll Make ‘Heavy Play’ for New York, New Jersey, Virginia, New Mexico, Minnesota. I think this makes sense. Go to these Democratic cities that are being overran by this illegal invasion. Talk to the people assure them that the cities will recover under a second Trump administration. [Hidden Content]
  17. OK, this is my take. And as always, if at any point I am factually wrong let me know. What some may or may not know, is that before EVERY game, coaches bring in all officials and draw the trick plays on the board for them: Which INCLUDES personnel. This happens so there are no surprises for the officials. Now, #70 had been reporting as eligible twice, I think it was, in the game. But NOT this time. This was part of the trick. The REf turned to the Cowboy's defense BEFORE #70 got to the Ref. Anyway, #70 lined up at right tackle and eventually was covered up by a tight end. Before this, the Lions QB, as seen on video, motions #68 to go report to the Ref. #68 gets within a couple of feet of the Ref and reports. On video, you can see the Ref looking squarely at #68. Then after #68 reports, the Ref turns and goes reports to the Cowboy's defense that an eligible player has entered. Now, what did the Ref actually tell the Cowboys? Don't know. But #70 never got anywhere near the Ref because his part for entering was for optics. But -- let's revert back to my first point: Before the game the refs were told exactly what was going tot take place. No official should have been surprised. I did hear that the Ref was being punished and that his crew is banned from any playoff games. Don't know if this is actual because of this next statement. It's being reported Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk that the NFL is covering for Allen (The Ref) and pointing the finger at the Lions. From Pro Football Talk: "The league views the situation as an effort by the Lions to engage in deception and gamesmanship that backfired." Looks like the NFL is covering their backsides. Because -- how can it be deception when the Lions told, and drew up on a board, exactly what they were going to do. BTW, unless I missed it somewhere else, I noticed in the NFL statement that the NFL didn't happened to mention the pregame coach/officials meeting! So, what happened? 2 possibilities: Because it was Jimmy Johnson day, the outcome was rigged. Or -- the Ref just screwed up. I personally think he screwed up. Remember, these are part time officials. And, they are human!

  19. Yeah there's the talk in here in the latter pages. [Hidden Content]
  20. This was a gift to Trump. It will be overturned by Supreme Court, plus it is forcing the other GOP candidates to talk about it being wrong and trump deserves to be on the ballot. This is fun to watch
  21. I find it hilarious that the negative people haven’t pounced on the Patriots when Brady was there. Talk about a pansy division. They were guaranteed a playoff spot every year. Of course Brady was the best, but no one ever questioned who they had beaten. 49ers lost to the Browns and Vikings on the road in consecutive weeks and then to the Bengals at home. The Browns didn’t have a winning record when they beat them. Minnesota was 2-4 when they beat them. The Bengals were 3-3 when they beat them. Remember, these are teams with losing records that beat the 49ers in consecutive weeks…..yet we sing their praises and pounce on the Cowboys. What a joke. Come at me with a little more substance than hatred.
  22. Step right up ladies and gentlemen. The 2023 WOSgrad Pick'ems competition will begin soon. Everyone is welcome to compete. It's a 17 week battle with no bye week. I plan to only have Friday night games. But with the talk of official shortages already these games may change to Thursday or Saturday. Keep a close eye on the Lock Times each week. I'll make an announcement here if I'm moving the times up. And if you find yourself not making the deadline. Send me a PM with your picks and I'll count the games that haven't been played. Hopefully that means "NO FREEBIES". Last year we had a total of 7, with only 8 pts separating the top 5. Also if anyone notices a mistake please let me know as soon as possible. Looking forward to another year with a local team finishing up at AT&T. Good luck to all fans and teams this season.
