  1. I'll be more on the high school scene this year. Watching the local talent and schools in the 23-AAA? Sheez! I'm not sure of the district we play in :D But anyway, I'm watching you HJ, real close this year. I want to see if it's luck or what that keeps you guys in the run for playoffs. But I also know Silsbee and WO-S will have some say so this year in the district.   ;)
  2. Last year Tony Wagner’s Estacado Matadors were 34-4 state champions. The return of four starters including all-state talents Clarence Willard and Kevin Wagner make them favorites to rule Region I and repeat. Danny Nix at Burkburnett has three starters including an all region pick from a 29-6 regional semi-finalist. Kennedale coach Doug Groff also returns an all-region selection from a 25-7 area finalist. They and everyone else hope to catch Estacado on an off day. In Region III Cleveland returns four three year starters including all-state talent 6’6 Cedric Reed. Coach Roderick Broussard hopes to improve on last year’s 28-5 regional quarterfinalist year. Hardin-Jefferson coach Todd Sutherland has three starters, five lettermen and players on a 23-5 JV team to take the next step for a 35-5 regional finalist. But, Travis Williams 30-5 Silsbee squad represented region III last year and he returns '6"4 D.C. Stallworth, an all-state selection now 4 year starter, '6"3 Prentice Lane 3 year starter, starting PG Kelton Gaines and nine players that made the trip to Austin. The Tigers will always be in the hunt. Two years ago Dallas Madison won the 3A state championship and last year they were runner up. Damion Mobley lost four starters from that 29-9 unit but has plenty of talent returning including eight letter winners. John King at Argyle returns all five starters including an allregion selection for the 24-10 area champ. Watch out for Lindale where three starters are back. Scott Albritton’s Eagles were 22-12 area finalists in class 4A and can’t be underestimated. Region II looks to be the toughest. West Oso is usually picked to win Region IV but someone else keeps getting in the way. Arnold Flores will build around all-state Raymond Robinson to make this the year of the Bears. The 32-4 squad last year was eliminated in the regional tournament. Liberty Hill hopes to be the team that knocks off the Bears this year. Barry Boren’s team makes the move from region I where the Panthers were 30-5 area finalists. They welcome back four all-district players and a 24-4 JV adds depth. Don’t forget to include Ike Thorton’s S.A. Sam Houston team. They were a 19-13 area finalist that lost only one senior.
  3. How does Joey Vincent get away with talking bad about the broadcasters for PNG but if I talk trash on Joey like call him a skinny little pea vine, it gets removed? Does anyone want to make a bet at how fast this gets either removed or edited by the admin of this site? Maybe i should post it on the other site where its a true open forum.
  4. JUST THINK HOW MUCH PAM WOULD BE TALKING TODAY IF THEY WOULD HAVE WON..... Here's all the talking done by the BRUINS...on the field... ;) [Hidden Content]

  7. anyone have any updates on the series? They won last night 4-1, and they played at 1:00 today so they are either the first team to advance to state or gonna be playing a 3rd game tommorrow.
  8. Hays defeated Montgomery in 3 games  5-4,  1-6, and 7-6. Both games Hays won went 9 innings, maybe they will still be tired next weekend.  ;D Hays is 21-7 on the year and co-district champs of 17-4a

  12. [quote]The Lamar women's basketball team may say they are taking it one game at a time, but the "P" word is definitely buzzing around the Montagne Center. The Lady Cardinals are on the verge of making the postseason for the first time since 1991. An outright regular season conference title would guarantee Lamar a spot in the WNIT. The team's sports information director, Pat Murray, was passing out a memo with directions on applying for NCAA Tournament credentials during Lamar's game with UT-Arlington on Wednesday night, a 79-73 win. Coach Larry Tidwell received an email from the Women's Basketball Invitational, a new postseason tournament, saying that if he committed to play in it, the Lady Cards were guaranteed a spot. 14. why is this side so dead....I guess smack talk rules. I hate it that the girlz get the short end of the stick, Maybe when district starts it will get better. I hope so.
  15. I cannot wait till they set this one up, this will be the biggest Boxing event ever. The two best PFP boxers in the WORLD. Boxing has had a great yr this yr. Hatton vs pacman over a million pview buys Pacman vs Cotto over a million buys Mayweather vs marquez over a million buys UFC still has ways to go if it wants to pass boxing.
  16. Favorite Routes out of 2 x 2? Gotta love some smash!
  17. With all the success (so far) that Brandon Faircloth has brought to PN-G this year, wonder how that is resonating with previous coach Matt Burnett? How does his new position as "outdoor athletic complex coordinator and student attendance officer" come in to play with the Athletic Director's position? Just curious....  seems like so many people were so quick to point out in the last few years that Burnett was not the man to lead PN-G (even though he had many playoff appearances and a run to the state title game).
  18. Vote on which topic you think we should talk about in our last segment on Monday's weekly preview show? Should volleyball be moved to Thursday nights instead of Fridays? How important is non-district? How important is home-field advantage in high school football?
  19. tell us about your teams JV how good are thay
