Now this period,  just cut Kasen loose.  No one on this team can check him....

How many times did Green put 4 or 5 out and tell Kasen to just work Pick and Roll and ISO and go get a bucket? I wasn’t there. This has been my issue with him since last year if he’s still keeping two guys down low clogging the line and doesn’t maximize your best players skill set.

You do know United doesnt play Baker and Pleasant together at all. Green usually plays with 1 big.

That’s on Green if he doesn’t play them together for this matchup but hey, can’t say I didn’t expect that from him lol you neutralize those two, they will smash PA. If he rolls with only 1 big, I’ll take back my 20 point blowout win prediction, it’ll be single digits in that case.

Nederland missed a lot of layups i think that decided the game. Is Hefner injured or coming off of an injury. He should’ve taken the game over best player in the gym I really wanted him to score every trip down ,but he’s so unselfish it’s frustrating lol. Of course in a good way!!!

He was second guessing himself a lot i noticed. Kind of expected though coming off an injury like that.

Why you leaving?   You're always welcomed to remain here...

I appreciate that, just have no reason to follow hs basketball anymore. I was asked to help coach some knucklehead kids 5-6 years ago and I made the commitment to stick with them and have moved up with them ever since. Not sure I will have time to follow or interest after my guys are gone but we will see. My kids will obviously change that but until then who knows.

It was blowout win.  Harrison  played limited time in second half.  Harrison wasn't needed in this kind of game, a blowout win when you have freshmen  scoring in double  digits and a sophmore scores about 20 points with like 4 showstopping dunks.  🤷🏾‍♂️🤷🏾‍♂️

Understand, just seems like there's a different expectation for Hefner I've seen big games not blowouts with Kasen not playing well at all and no one says anything...and I'm the biggest Kasen Harrison supporter here.

I'm not saying there should'nt be higher expectations for Hefner because there should be but there should always be for Kasen don't give him a pass haha

Not like he does now.   His improvement from Freshman year to now has been substantial (due to his work on this area of the game).  Shooting and defense were the two areas of his game that college coaches (who followed him over that span) most commonly remarked about his improvement.  To be clear, he could always shoot.  But the consistency he’s developed wasn’t always there when he was an underclassman.

Exactly...those same coaches are many of the ones that told similar things to Kasen. He's not a very great jump shooter yet and has definitely improved but it's the sole reason why he wasn't getting Arkansas, TCU, UH, Oklahoma offers early on. When he does develop that, which he will, he will be on that same NBA prospect level...even at 6'1

Probably the most improved area of his game over his high school career has been defense (and shooting).  I think all who have coached him or recruited him would agree.  Trust me, he’s not guarding air on the Under Armour circuit.  And based on his position, he was always guarding the guards/wings (mostly 2s).   One of the kids he defended particularly well signed with Kansas yesterday.

People don’t realize Hefner is a legit NBA prospect, not just a high level D1.

Mike James is doing very well for himself  coming from LU....Have you ever thought the kid just didn't want to go far away...he obviously didn't want to play AAU far away for some reason or another...

Yeah it played a big part in his decision to stay. If you look at what took place at LU this past year with several players leaving and getting kicked off it definitely isn’t a good look in my opinion for whatever the individual reasons were. We have had many conversations about it. Some of the reason why he didn’t go far off for long for AAU is because of reliability with his travel situation. The other was favoritism with kids who were older and from Houston that weren’t nearly as good with him being 16 at the time. Like I said, I hope he stays all 4 years just being selfish to be able to go watch him every home game.

I understand that point but also by him playing on the circuit he was more visible than Harrison...you put Harrison with any shoe circuit team and he stays there and he's a high mid major talent...only mid major to major talent because of his height would be the only thing they may bring up because he's a scoring point guard that can facilitate but hes had to be that to help his teams over the years...

Yeah I agree with that, I've been saying that on this board about him as well. He actually played for Texas Pro Skills for a bit and left because of some reasons I wont make known on here, but even with the circuit, he's just not as polished as Hefner. He needed to work alot on his finishing with the left and pull-up before he got an Oklahoma or TCU type offer from what they told him. He uses his strength at the high school level to finish on people but it will not translate as well to high level college. He has made a huge jump in that department though and it won't surprise me one bit to see bigger schools come offering the deeper BU goes in the playoffs.

  10. If I was coaching a team myself and I had anyone to choose from, I'm picking Kasen. The ONLY reason I'm picking him is because of how long we've put in work and that rapport that's been built. Hefner is a better prospect, and I really hate saying that, but that's just the way it is. One of the best coaches in the country feels the same way.  People can make excuses as to why Hefner got the aTm offer, but let me help you, it wasn't to fill a spot or being at the top of his class. He's 6'5 that can put his head at the rim and can facilitate and score with the best of them. Please don't get it confused.
