  1. It was interesting to hear Aledo's new HC talk about the importance of not changing a single thing when he took over from his OC role. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. I understand circumstances were different for WOS but it's obvious nobody is happy. Also, it seems if there's no change at Supt. level, you won't get a well seasoned, successful Coach to sign up anyway. On paper, it would be a great opportunity but the reality of it looms much larger. Hang in there Stangs!
  2. That's some serious horsepower warfare in the trenches on both sides of the ball
  3. Just got word OF made Hickman an offer to the tune of a quarter-million dollars with stock options...he'll be in Orange next year.
  4. Surratt's talent pool isn't everywhere either, (a dozen 300lb.'ers each year and D1's everywhere is pretty special) I understand the point you are making and I agree... but to be fair, Deweyville would have to beat Mart to make it to State. We just absolutely do not match talent. Mart (although they lost to Albany) just made their 7th straight State appearance...not many schools compete with Mart. But I know what you mean. Coaching (IMO) means you get everything out of what you have...build some success and talent will come or it won't and you go somewhere with more talent and get the best out of them! 🤣
  5. Love stories like this! Prayers for a happy and healthy retirement for Coach Foster and all the young people he helped!
  6. This is 2 of the 3 teams that beat Deweyville this year.....the other one is up 53-0 in their game tonight. 🤣
  7. Brandon Prouse and his staff have quietly been building a program in the 'Ville. He has changed the culture since he arrived. These are river bottom kids who've had many obstacles to overcome between the 2 River floods and countless hurricanes back to back to back. They have a certain toughness and he knows how to Coach that dog... Discipline is on full display as the kids enter/exit the field, hat under the right arm and single file down the sidelines. After the game the entire team and coaching staff went to the 50, raised their hats for the opposing school's song in a show of respect and then all huddled up and prayed together. That's exactly how it should be. Congratulations to The Pirates team, staff and community!
  8. Congratulations to Coach Prouse and the Deweyville Pirates!!!!
