The Beaumont Rockets are hosting a FREE basketball tryout for its local 7u team and AAU 11 & 12U basketball travel teams. Tryouts will be held at Ebenezer Baptist church 675 College st in Beaumont TX, Sunday 11/13/2022 at 4:45 for 7u and 5:45pm for 11&12u. The Beaumont Rockets do travel but majority of travel is Houston, Dallas, San Antonio and Austin for tournaments. The Rockets focus on development and discipline while providing a fun atmosphere for learning the game of basketball.  Age is based on child's birthdate as of September 1st of 2022. If child has a birthday of October 17, 2011 the child would be listed as 11u.

. The UIL ruled that Duncanville had to forfeit any games that Anthony Black played in because he had been ruled ineligible by UIL.

Are they still going to have a ruling on if they are eligible for this years playoffs? Didnt hear anything on that

There is no conspiracy.

UIL ruled the player ineligible in September. He and his mom filed a temporary restraining order to keep the UIL from upholding the ruling. A court allowed the order until the Supreme Court could rule on it. The SC threw the order out so therefore the player became ineligible again. Player, mom and coach all knew he could be ruled ineligible but chose to play the player anyways.

UIL under these circumstances had to make this ruling.

These conspiracy theories about UT influencing these type decisions for the UIL is laughable.

Don't underestimate the POWER of UT.  Read up on the PUF Fund and UT. Politics, Courts, UIL and UT have been hand and hand for DECADES. Conspiracy theories are always crazy until proven right. Did UT have a hand in it, we will never know but dont think it is laughable. A kid that mother started dating a coach when he was in the 10th grade. Coach lets the kid use one of his cars to keep going to Coppell. Then the mom moves in with the coach and the REAL father is the mad one and causes the fuss but now the mom and coach are MARRIED doesn't sit right with most. Look at home many TEXAS HS players that signed with UT ever had eligibility issues in HS.  I not saying its true but I wouldnt say its all false either

BU will definitely still be a top team but I think they'll miss Arceneaux  but with the #2 player in the state I'm sure they'll be a force again this season as always 

Thats true. Everyone on BU has a new roll due to Arceneaux and it will take some time. They wont have a easy district to get the kinks out but the will be there at the end I believe. They are just that good. I see it being BU and Atascocita for #1 in the District with Westbrook having ALOT to say about how it ends. All three will go 2 or more rounds deep in the playoffs  

It was great to see some good vibes for Beaumont HS sports. In fall ball this weekend Beaumont Westbrook beat Beaumont United 54-51. Aside from missing players that are playing football and not having he actual coaches what are you guys thoughts on the game and upcoming season. I really like what I saw out of the young Westbrook group. BU are already gonna be there when its all said and done even with moving up to 6A. Looks like the Beaumont area is in for a treat watch some good hoops this season!!!!

Woman shot in ankle after gun brought onto bus from visiting Dallas-area school, San Antonio police say

SAN ANTONIO – A night of basketball practice ended in a shooting on the Northwest Side, San Antonio police said.

The shooting happened Wednesday night near Loop 1604 and Hausman at a property that belongs to Northside ISD. The district confirmed none of its students were involved.

San Antonio police said the boys basketball team involved came in from the Dallas area.

Officers say someone brought a gun onto their charter bus after practice.

A woman who is a trainer with the team was shot in the ankle. She was taken to University Hospital.

Police are trying to figure out who fired the gun.

Im in the process of putting together a All Star Basketball game for the Sr Boys around SETX as a way to bring light to the talent we have around this area. The game will be March 18th between the time of 12-3pm. It will be held at the Toyota Center in Houston Texas where the Houston Rockets play. I would love to hear the people on this threads nominations on players that are worthy of attending. If you would like to nominate a Sr please do so below with name, size and school. Also that day RCS Sports will be hosting a unsigned Sr event that will have college coaches in attendance. If a SR is lucky enough to be invited to the RCS event I advise they go to that over my event. I will not have college coaches at my event but we will live stream. Looks like Dallas Kimball is stacking up for a possible rematch with Beaumont United for the state championship. Arterio Morris had left Kimball to attend Ischool in Lewisville but after Keyonte George left to attend IMG he has decided to return to Kimball. But he also grabbed ischools highly ranked guard trae Clayton to come to kimball. Also hearing Kimball grabbed two more players one from family faith (not Jordan Walsh who's gone to cali) and another from Coppell ( not anthony black whos headed to Duncanville). Man I thought greater Houston kids were moving and shaking. WOW!!!

Looking for some teams to have a scrimmage with once we start flag football practice. Willing to come to you if need be.

A few weeks ago Kason Harrison entered the transfer portal and announced he was transferring to La Tech to team up with PA and La Tech standout Lofton Jr. Late last night Harrison decommitted from La Tech. Alvin brooks has taken over Lamar basketball and former Silsbee great Jordyn Adams has transferred into Lamar. Ima keep saying this until im blue in the face. The ONLY way you are beating BU is to have an Elite guard that will not turn the ball over and a big that can get rebounds so BU doesn't get 3 and for offensive rebounds on possessions. You must have less than 15 turnovers. I counted 33 turnovers for nederland last night and that was with the slowed 2nd qtr. Griggs (Hightower) and A&M commit Wade Taylor (Lancaster) are the only 2 guards I know of in 5A that can keep their team under 15 turnovers in the state. RIGHT NOW

Nederland had trouble with westbrook at home. I really think unless nederland has less than 9 turnovers that BU wins by 20+. Hope im wrong because I want to see a good game. Heard it will be live streamed on TexanLive

Atascocita is really coach well and DEEP. I don't think BU could get the turnovers needed to knock them off. Would love to see it though
