​Ozen will make the playoffs

​We just thought Yates has a good Communications program. 

I think polls are fun but shouldn't be taken too seriously, especially national polls. There is a reason they change weekly during the season. That being said, it's cool to see your old high school on a national poll.
I remember when EC was so far under the radar no one outside of SETX knew they even existed (their page on MaxPreps was blank). The teams record was so bad the most they could hope for from those that knew who they were was pity. It took a lot of years of hard work and playing pretty good football to change that.
I'm not ready to predict any championships or make any plans to hoist a trophy at NRG (ya gotta beat the Yoes of the world to do that, not show up in a poll)....but things ain't too bad in the rice field....

PN-G is a great football tradition in this state. We have one of the premier rilvalries in the state. I will take my position as a PN-G fan anyday anytime. A good highschool fan will be there for their kids win our lose. Period. I can start naming them right now if you like.the other kind is what we see more though. I have seen them guys and gals come aqnd go so many times in my 9 years on here by the dozens It happens every single season. There team wins a little bit and they blow onto the scene and rattle the cage. Then all of the sudden when they lose a couple of games they pull a houdini and disappear.. Now lets talk about those who do support there kids no matter what.. This post was started by one of those who does. She supports her team through thick and thin. I have great respect for that. So does most all of the regulars on here. I can list things about PNG that is great. I can talk about our 6 trips to the State Championship. I can talk about our multiple attendance records. Our crazy legendery support from our community. I really only want to talk about one thing. When I look across the bridge to your side of the Trinity Its not Crosby that I think about Its not there winning record that comes to mind. Its not their winning tradition that is legendary over there. Its not there coach or trips to state.  That belongs to the true team of winning tradition and they wear purple jerseys and horseshoes on their helmets. The caoch was Stewart. The teams were ripping so many consecutive playoff apperances that I cant count anymore. When I think of your district I think of Dayton. If you want to talk about Brenahm you are wrong you should look to your district foe for a role model. You should hope to be like they have been. I give credit were its due. Crosby had a great seaon last year. Lets see if you can repeat. Then you will have a little bit more respect. When you are dealing with 16-18 year old kids talent will come and go. Just like the fans do. I hope to continue to see you all around. 

​same here, I think GCM is the wildcard, remember they beat Ned in Ned last yr. 

Guys, you can't count out Ozen with the time the new coach had last year and not having a full staff!  I got Ozen in!

I'm sorry about my posts on the PNG and Lumberton post. I'm just so tired of outsiders downing our boys! These boys may not win as many games as they like but they play hard and with a lot of heart. These boys love our town and are staying in Lumberton because they want to represent their town. The attitude this team has this year is way different than the past couple years teams. 
 
Yes I get comments at work and everywhere about supporting Lumberton because in their eyes Lumberton "sucks" but you know what I do not care what others think because I support ANY Lumberton sports team no matter what!

​Unbelievable. I can see my conversation with the BBQ patrol guy getting a little heated. This world is going to crash and burn if we don't snatch ourselves back to some common sense. 

Panthers are in the Lab early in the AM, Parking lot Full of Cars(Coaching Staff) Expecting Great things from this Group of young men & Staff. Can't wait for the Season to start. Panthers!!!!!!

I would tell you that we regularly scheduled State Ranked 5A Teams & had great success. We never scheduled games VS lower classifications because it was pointless. If Lincoln were around today, they would serve the same Beatdowns as usual.  Please don't compare Lincoln to any current Team in the State regardless of Classification. If you don't believe me, check the History Books. Thanks & Drive Thru

Lamar Cardinals I think are finally realizing our area in TALENT.  Mr. Randle last year and now Mr. Morse. This indeed is a steal, this kid is a leader on the field. He directs the  offense, can read defense. But most of all carries himself with the grace of his PARENTS within him. So congrats to him to his parents and the Cardinals.

I would appear to be a huge bandwagon fan as well.  In my defense, my favorite teams are based on who I grew up rooting for, which were the teams my old man rooted for.  He grew up in the 40s and 50s and is a die hard Cowboys, Celtics and Yankees fan.  He is also from West Texas and is a huge Tech fan.  So those were my teams too, until I went to UT for academic purposes and added my alma mater to my list of teams.  
I will say that we are loyal.  After I hit double digits into my mid 20s, the Yankees were pretty bad.  Almost the same timeline with the Cowboys, except they became good again in my early 20s.  I did have the Celtics though who were almost always very good throughout my childhood years.  May be why basketball has always been my favorite sport...
(My son on the other hand is getting his fair share of lean Celtics years.  Still his favorite team though.)

I'm with you BP.  Had no idea it was this bad.  And agree about how gratifying it would be.  One reason I loved HS ball, and Tx College ball (virtually all the kids where from Texas).  What really sucks, so many that have lived there forever, don't get to play because of these draftees.  I understand a few kids changing for personal reasons, but I'd rather the school I follow lose than bring a Bunch in from out of town.

This thing is worst than I thought. I cannot see how gratifying it would be to win a title with 80% of your local towns team being recent move ins.
